Better than expected
I'll happily admit to expecting to really hate this film, I wasnt expecting much and didnt particularly like the first film, but actually this wasnt that bad. I'd even go as far as saying I preferred it to the first.

The reason why I didnt like the first film much is because they tried too hard to have a cohesive storyline when really, I'd have preferred a random mash up of silly clips making fun of all the silly things pets do. And whilst this second film doesn't quite get there either, it gets a lot closer! It's basically just 3 random stories tied in together, a bit ridiculous but there are some funny humorous moments and I laughed a lot more than I did with the original.

But that said, it still isnt great. Some of the characters just dont fit with their voices and I found some of the new characters (Daisy) ridiculously annoying. This is just one of those films that's not bad but not good, and mainly just alright.

A Marmite film
If you have seen the trailer then you know this is going to be an artsy, bizarre film that's different from the mainstream films. It can be equally daft, silly one minute and shocking, disturbing the next. For either reason a few people walked out of the cinema after a while. It is gory at times and as it doesn't feel like a Horror film it can have more of an impact. There are lots of visual clues throughout the film and it does have depth to it. My main problem with it is despite being arsty the outcome as a whole was still quite predictable. It's a little overly long as well. It definitely has a Wicker Man meets Get Out vibe to it. Without being as good as either of those films. Overall a film some will love or hate, but either way it will stick with you after the credits. You'll definitely be talking about it for a while.

Great mix of history and fiction.
I kept saying this around Halloween and I finally got around to reading it. I got to be honest I wasn't expecting much sounded a little trophie but I got to be honest I really did enjoy it from start to finish. The author is apparently related to the actual guy in the book which was a really cool take I really love the setting of Salem the author really got the detail down great and made for really interesting story. I got to be honest the plot was probably my favorite part it was a great mix of historical fiction and YA high school drama with the perfect amount of a good old myster novel.

Really my only complaint was the really tired love triangle storyline I really didn't feel like it was needed she could have easily have just been friends with one of them but that's just my personal opinion because I honestly I absolutely hate love triangles.

I'm definitely going to be chexking out book 2.

In a world where magic and science sit side by side, and powerful witches are considered necessary aides for all governments, Lizzie Grace is something of an outlier. Though born into one the most powerful blue blood witch families, she wants nothing to do with either her past or her magic.

But when she and Belle, her human familiar and best friend, open a small cafe in the Faelan werewolf reservation, she quickly finds herself enmeshed in the hunt for a vampire intent on wreaking bloody havoc. It’s a hunt that soon becomes personal, and one that is going to take all her skills to survive–that’s if the werewolves, who hate all things witch, don’t get her first.

I love Keri Arthur and have read almost everything she has written this is a reread for me as I needed to refresh myself for the second book. It did not disappoint full of action and pent up sexual frustration between characters. I love the fact she has Belle her human familiar . Recommended.

More of the same
I'm not a massive fan of the John Wick films, I don't hate them but I don't particularly love them either. Mostly because of Keanu Reeves' acting. I know this isnt the kind of film that requires Oscar worthy acting, but even with a limited script Keanu Reeves is pretty dire.

This third instalment is more of the same and picks up from where the second film left off. The fight choreography is pretty decent and it was nice to see more of the concierge, and some new faces in Jerome Flynn, Mark Dacascos and Angelica Huston. Plot wise this is fairly thin but then that's not really a surprise, as the main purpose of this film is the action. It's just a shame that this isnt really anything new and the whole film is on for way too long. There's only so many action scenes they can drag out.

Honestly this just isn't my kind of film. I can appreciate the action elements, but man Keanu Reeves is a terrible actor.
