Acting is outstanding (5 more)
Directing is great
Storylines balanced well
Pacing is good
Action is amazing
Minor characters very good as well
A perfect Heist movie
This is a movie with a lot of "heat" coming off of it......okay no more puns. Everyone I know that has seen it has said how great it is but I just hadn't got round to wathing it until recently and wow. Wow wow wow this movie blew me away. I loved every minute of this movie and there's a lot of them ! There are great films and then there are works of art and I think this is a work of art because it is truly incredible and revolutionary. Every member of the cast is brilliant and some of the themes are very cleverly used as well as showcasing the high levels of intellect the criminals have when setting out a score. If you love movies then this is something you really need to watch and you will likely find it as amazing as I did.

Donald Glover
Woody Harrelson
Alden Ehrenreich gives it his all in playing a younger Han Solo
Alden Ehrenreich is no Harrison Ford (2 more)
Predictable plot
The leader of Crimson Dawn didn't need to be who it is
The second of Disney's 'A Star Wars story' spin-off from the main (numbered) films followimg Rogue One, this one is largely held responsible for Disney's decision to slow down on releasing this spins offs (originally intended to be one every other year, in between the main ones) when it underperformed at the box office.
Personally, I feel a large reason for that underperformance is that, of all the characters in the original saga, Han is probably one of those least in the need to get an origin/prologue movie and that this was released during the summer months instead of the more traditional festive release period for a Star Wars movie.
Whereas Rogue One was, largely, a war movie, this one takes a different approach: more of a heist (complete with double and triple crossing) Western movie, if anything.

You know what I'm going to say it I freaking enjoyed this movie... People seriously made this movie seem like it was the worse Star Wars movie ever made but it really wasn't. Was it an awesome Han Solo origin movie, not really, but was it a fun movie that kept me interested the whole time, yeah it did.
I love heist movies and at its core that's what this was and I thought it did a really good job at it.
Look wise they could have found someone so much better for play are scruffy hero but the kid didn't do a bad job the more you watch the more Solo he becomes. I have always love Lando and have had the honour of meeting Billy Dee Williams a bunch of time and I have to give it to Donald Glover he did an amazing job playing him.
So all in all was this the Solo movie we deserved no not really, was it still a good movie, yeah it was.

Thanks to the holiday season and all the activity that comes along with it, it took me a bit longer to finish this one than I would have liked, but now that I have I can only say that it deserves all of the accolades it's been receiving. The author's prose is always engaging and often quite poetically beautiful. The characters are memorable and endearing, even with their many, many flaws. While I didn't find Theo's life to be especially relatable, I did relate to much of what he was thinking and feeling growing up over the course of this book, and despite the somewhat extreme circumstances in it, I think many of us will be able to empathize with his thoughts and motivations. Without giving anything away, I can say that while it is ostensibly about an unintentional art heist in the aftermath of a terrorist attack, it is really about so much more. Essentially a meditation on the meanings of love, art, and even life itself; this book should not be missed. A new masterpiece.

Going through the motions...
Ocean's Eight was not an awful film, just completely unnecessary. Who was clamoring for anther "Ocean's" outing. Just remaking famous films like "Ghostbusters" with all women just isn't enough to captivate me especially since this one was very average indeed.
When Debbie Ocean gets out of a five year prison sentence, she decides to take on the Met Gala and heist a $150 million dollar necklace which has come out of retirement for the evening. The usual gathering of cohorts and planning stages are present, but with very uninteresting, flat one-dimensional characters.
I was about to say I was never bored, but I kind of was. I picked up my phone and was checking email which is a sure sign of me waiting to see how long the film has left before it is over.
Anne Hathaway was my favorite in the film as she seemed to have the most to do. Sarah Paulson who I love was given a very boring part with nothing exciting to say or do.
Overall, very disappointing.

Twilight is long gone!
400. Good Time. This is a good one! We meet Connie, a low life criminal with a smooth talent manipulating people. Today he's an incredible jerk and brings his mentally challenged brother, Nick, with him to a bank heist. The job actually goes over pretty smoothly, until police randomly ask them a few questions when spotted walking on the street. Nick can't handle the pressure and bolts, and promptly gets caught and sent to jail, Connie escapes. Now Connie desperately needs to get his brother bailed out, coming up 10 grand short for bail, he goes through a series of events to raise the money fast, including an ill fated jail break! Robert Pattinson was awesome as Connie, have really liked his stuff since leaving Twilight behind! Fast paced, exciting story, that makes you feel for Connie, also makes you want to punch him in the face!! Has a cool 80's synthesizer soundtrack to it. Panic makes a good movie tone.
