I have never read from this author before, but I enjoyed her easy light hearted style. From page one, I knew I was going to enjoy the authors humor as well as characters. From the beginning, it was hard not to like Willa. She is sweet, kind-hearted, and funny at no ones expense. Keane was just as likable. Despite their troubles and pasts, there was a delightful lack of angst and self-loathing. A definite win in my opinion.
Just in time for the beginning of the holiday season, The Trouble with Mistletoe is lovely read for those wanting a sweet, not too complicated romance.

This is no deep and meaningful film, but I don't want that all the time. I went with the youngest boy (Son #2), and he had a huge smile on his face from beginning to end - as did I. And that, people, is what a summer holiday film should be all about!
We sang Abba songs all the way home (good job Son #1 wasn't with us, he would've been mortified. 14 is a difficult age...). I'm sure there were people joining in as we walked though town to our car!

The main character will be familiar as Bonnie from The Vampire Diaries and as good an actor as she is, she is more annoying than likeable. That is the case in this film too. It's a shame, but the mistake she makes that causes the drama, seems like something a spoilt pentulant toddler would do. You take an instant dislike to her, not that you loved her from the off though.
Overall, I liked the idea and did enjoy the movie. Everyone needs a little magic at Christmas and The Holiday Calendar provides it.

This seems to be a special activity that Mist seems to have pulled together for the guest at the hotel. That she gets some of the townsfolk to help out. What is this activity she has planned? Well, you will need to find out by reading.
The guests are Clara and Andrew, Michael, Max and Kinsley and Allison and the Professor. The story is heartfelt and sweet. It is a fun and enjoyable read. It loves it. Deborah Garner does a wonderful job of creating a special time for getting together.

Then one day ben a stray cat turns up on the doorstep and there whole world changes.
The story goes through some magical moments where you are left smiling and you dont want to put the book down.
One day while they are on holiday ben goes missing. The story runs through the whole heartache and mystery surrounding the missing cat.
You will find the ending adorable though.
Hope you enjoy the book just as much as I did

Ronnie (304 KP) rated The Case Of The Drowned Pearl in Books

I really enjoyed just setting aside a short amount of time to just sit down and read ‘The Case Of The Drowned Pearl’ in one go. It was a nice, short, easy read and it was great getting to see a murder investigated from a new angle, with the chapters alternating between Daisy and Hazel’s perspectives.
I can’t wait to read the next Murder Most Unladylike book, although it will be sad bidding a fond farewell to the Detective Society.
