MrsSkefton (3 KP) rated The Reason I Jump: One Boy's Voice from the Silence of Autism in Books
Jul 26, 2018
Easy read - each chapter is relative to a trait or “issue” with concise thoughts and insights that can be really useful if living or working with autistic people. (2 more)
Thought provoking and moving in ways I hadn’t anticipated.
A book I can share with my eldest daughter and other family members in the hope they can make connections or learn how to better interact with my youngest autistic daughter.
Insightful!

Leah Rothwell (170 KP) rated The Promised Neverland: Volume 2 in Books
Sep 17, 2018 (Updated Sep 17, 2018)
Not for the faint hearted but it is incredible how much suspense can be wrapped up in these few pages. It’s drawn to really captivate you and make you care about every person in one way or another. The battles they ensue and the cleverness in the plot makes this such an amazing read that I hope it is a long standing series as it deserves it!
I wouldn’t start this series until a lot more are realised as I’m addicted and they are not released quick enough!

Oh, Sandra Brown, you never disappoint!
There's a reason Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors, and Tailspin just cements her more solidly on that list. Another fast-paced ride into suspense (and romance!). Great story - well-researched and believable. I found the aviation aspect very interesting. Terrific characters that will elicit a wide range of emotions from the reader, from "OMG I hate her, she's a terrible person" to "Aww, I really hope things work out for him." I enjoyed this one from beginning to end.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Inferno Squad (Star Wars Battlefront #2) in Books
Jun 19, 2019
Set just after the events of Rogue One, this novel is about how the Empire struck back. It features the elite Inferno Squad, put together to infiltrate one of the rebel cells. The novel is also inspired by Battlefront II.
I liked the characters in general, and the story was interesting and well-paced. There are also some Easter eggs from The Clone Wars television show. Christie Golden has always been a solid author of video-game/franchise inspired stories. I hope Disney gives her another book to write.

David McK (3576 KP) rated Star Wars: Death Star (Star Wars) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
An OK addition to (the books I've read in) the Star Wars canon, the main focus of this one is obviously about the eponymous Doomsday device built by the Empire: the dreaded Death Star.
The vast majority of the book is actually about the construction of the same, told from the viewpoint of several different characters involved in and living on it, with the culmination of the novel the events that take place during "A New Hope".
In short, there's better 'expanded universe' Star Wars books out there.

Enjoyable
First series was not too bad but won't set the world on fire. It's a hard one to review because it just lacked that something but I don't know what that something is. Will I watch series two? Yes probably, I feel it's going to get better as the characters develop. I think on some of the scenes I should be on the edge of my seat like I was with GOT et al but I wasn't. Let's hope it grows, it has the capacity to do so.

Chuckys design
Just finished watching not as good as the original but it's okay did we really need a child's play remake probably not. the acting was okay mark hamill on voice dutys good but not as good as Brad dourif and the chuckys look so wrong it just wasn't chucky. There are some kills in the movie which I like. Let's hope they don't make a sequel and go back to the original Chucky next time

It’s all over!!
I didn’t actually realise that this was the last one in the series until I got to the last page. I had an inkling, but there was always the hope that it was just a pause: but it’s THE END!! And what an end! Everything has been wrapped up nicely, with a good dose of adventure in the lead up to the finale. I’ve really enjoyed this series and I’m rather sad to see it end, but I’m glad that it ended on a high.

Sara Cox (1845 KP) rated Gavin and Stacey: Christmas special 2019 in TV

I absolutely love Gavin and Stacey and was so excited for this Christmas special! I love that they used the same actor for Neill the baby as 10 years ago! I thought the episode was absolutely brilliant and I'm more angry at Smithy's new girlfriend for not allowing Bryn to tell us at what happened at the fishing trip, as I truly thought we were going to be told, than I am about her utter disdain for the family. I really hope that this is a lead on to another series!
