Characters – Alex joins her boyfriend on this weekend, she isn’t the biggest horror fan, but a couples weekend, is a couple weekends, she has a past which has seen her struggle through events in her life, which will make her fit the typical final girl for a slasher experience. Nathan is the boyfriend that was going on this weekend with his best friend who paid for everything, only to drop out, he has always been loyal toward Alex, whatever her struggles. Larry is a lone man that has been on this style of weekend before and enjoys meeting the new people that take part in the games. Marina is one half of a horror fan couple, she does fill the slutty figure of the cast.
Performances – Marcienne Dwyer in the leading role is strong through the film, we see her go through the range of emotions as her character becomes more complex as the film unfolds. When it comes to the rest of the cast they do hit their characters well and look like they fit into the horror genre.
Story – The story follows six people that entertain a horror theme weekend of fun that soon spirals out of control as one of them finds themselves alone and wondering if this is real or not. This is an interesting story to watch unfold, we are entering a world where horror films exists which is important for the way of surviving what is happening. We will be left to wonder if this is real or not which is just what we want. This is a simple enough story that will keep us guessing and waiting to see how the events unfold.
Horror – The horror in this film comes from knowing horror movies, which will see how the group look to survive the events of a horror film.
Settings – The film uses the settings that are known in horror, including the woods which is one of the easiest slasher locations in horror.
Special Effects – The film uses practical effects to achieve everything it wants to during the weekends events.
Scene of the Movie – The beach.
That Moment That Annoyed Me – The supporting members of the group feel too generic for the genre of horror.
Final Thoughts – This is a fun horror that really does try to push the limits of the audience by showing us just how people can become affected by a horror weekend event.
Overall: Enjoyable horror.

Not just your average horror film
If you're expecting your run of the mill slasher/horror flick then this film won't be for you. Whilst it starts off exactly like every other cabin in the woods type film, there are a few odd bits of intrigue thrown in that make you realise it isn't just your average horror. And as far as horror goes, this isn't one for typical jump scares. In fact, this film is actually hilarious and the only real bits of horror are the copious amounts of gore and creeps towards the end. The elevator scene is by far one of my favourite scenes out of any horror, it's delightfully bonkers and horrifying.
This film is in its entirety pretty crazy and bonkers, but for the most part it doesn't matter as it does brilliantly at challenging your typical horror movie cliches and this is so fun to watch. The ending itself is possibly the only part that goes a little too far & is probably a bit too farfetched, but it is still a far more refreshing ending than what you'd get in your typical horror.
I'd love to see them make a 'choose your own' ending type game out of this film, it'd be so much fun!

The Horror Masterpiece
Nosferatu- is a masterpiece for its time, it is one of the best silent fims of all time. It is a masterpiece. Without this movie, we couldnt have horror films today, without this movie, we couldnt have monster movies today, without this movie, horror movies wouldnt be the same. This movie waved and introduced monster movies, horror movies, scary movies, terrorfying movies, horrorfying movies and much more.
The Plot: In this highly influential silent horror film, the mysterious Count Orlok (Max Schreck) summons Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim) to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. The eerie Orlok seeks to buy a house near Hutter and his wife, Ellen (Greta Schroeder). After Orlok reveals his vampire nature, Hutter struggles to escape the castle, knowing that Ellen is in grave danger. Meanwhile Orlok's servant, Knock (Alexander Granach), prepares for his master to arrive at his new home.
Count Orlok- is mysterious, creepy, terrorfying, horrorfying and more. Without him we wouldnt have monsters/creatures in horror movies today.
I can go on and on, on how this movie is perfect and waved the horror films as a whole and gave horror its name.
If you havent seen this film or heard this film, i wouls highly reccordmend watching this film.

After watching the first in search of darkness I had to watch the follow up and its just as brilliant documentary as the first one more 80s horror movies from the directors and stars hell even Chris jerchio the wrestler talking about his love of 80s horror is fine with me. At 4 and half hours long it's definitely worth a watch Longside the first one if u love 80s horror
