Gone With the Wind (1939)
1939 | Drama, Romance, War

"My ideal man was Christopher Reeves’ Superman; my ideal woman Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman. But here was my first glimpse of the electricity that can crackle between two such sexy grown-ups. Like Oz, it’s another 1939 tale about a dark-haired, willful farm girl. But Scarlett O’Hara’s desires aren’t as heady as Dorothy’s; they run hot and elsewhere. Thanks to the manic perfectionism of both producer David O. Selznick and Vivien Leigh, it’s the best depiction of female desire ever captured on film."

Wow!

I think I fell in love with this series about half way through the book and I cant wait to start book two.

The chemistry between Elena and Raphael was smoking hot and I was loving reading their relationship unfold while trying to track down the bad guy.

I almost cried too, near the end when Raphael was cradling her in his arms, had to take deep breaths and blink rapidly lol, I don't think he realises just quite how good he is.

I don't think the author stuck to Kain's original bad arse-ness enough. To start with he was this arrogant arse that was hot but likeable and then by the eighth or ninth chapter he was all nice and gentle and wanting more from her. It lost my interest a little when that happened. The rest of the story didnt really pull me in either apart from the family turmoil when Lulabelle? came back after ten years away.

I don't think I'll be continuing the series.
