This book was a delight and so compulsively readable! It was so fun to escape to Rome with Amir but also to delve into some deeper topics as well. One of my friends lives in Italy and this is just exactly how I picture her life. Amir was such a fun narrator and even though he was a bit of an asshole sometimes you really were rooting for him! We can so often romanticise situations, people and places and this story showed that even the things that we romanticise and deem perfect are messy when we look a little closer.

This started good.

I loved Jett at the beginning; he was hot and arrogant but in a way I liked. For the first 40% it was going great for me and then I kinda got bored. It was flirting and almost having sex, without having sex while having a little work related stuff thrown in.

I was surprised at the end, I wasn't expecting that but I knew there was something wrong with Jett and the property he was after when he was being all b*tchy with Brooke about the details.

In truth I think I've read a few too many NA/Contemporary romances at once and im getting fed up of them. And unfortunately for this book, it's getting the brunt of my feelings.

Inventive action

After reading the John Dies at the End trilogy I knew that I would read everything that this author wrote. Even though I wouldnt say that action is a genre I like very much I knew I had to read this book and I am so glad that I did!

David Wong always makes characters feel real to the reader, they are filled with flaws just like everyone else and they are not supermodel level hot like most books would make their characters seem. I also just love his sense of humor. I can be assured, whenever I read a David Wong book, that I have absolutely no idea what madness is going to happen next.
