I received this in return for an honest review, so here goes.

This is my first Mina Carter experience and I wasnt disappointed. I won't give any of the story details away as that would be unfair to other readers.

It was impeccably well written. One of my pet peeves is reading a book that looks as though the author hasnt read it before publishing but this book doesn't fall into this category. It was a pleasure to read. A very easy to read novel, unless fanning yourself is hard :-P. So steamy I'm pretty sure it gave me a fever. The characters had sizzling sexual chemistry and on a whole I didn't want to put it down. The only thing I can say bad about the book is that the end left me wanting more, much more - but maybe that's my problem and not the books.

Would definitely recommend to friends that like hot and steamy reads.

Two short notice NetGalley approvals, so having to re-shuffle my reading plan (humblebrag).
I'm going to blitz the novella "Of Gods and Men" by Stephen Aryan, published next week, over the next day or so and then rattle through "Age of Assassins" by RJ Barker (which I have heard very good things about and have been wanting to read for some time) so I can review "Blood of Assassins" before its release on the 15th. Luckily the concluding book in that trilogy, "King of Assassins", is released in August so I won't have too long to wait for the finish (I hate reading a series that isn't yet finished, hence why I have never started "A Song of Ice and Fire" and why I'm reluctant to read the Mister Men books to the kids - still too many loose ends).
Then back to some hot dwarf action. Erm ... you know what I mean.

A smoking hot read, be prepared going in. This is erotica, so expect it to be erotic. While there is a storyline attached, the steamy scenes are the star of this novel. I say be prepared because each chapter delves into a different…kink so to say. Some may not be to your tastes while others might have you needing a cold shower. If you are uncomfortable with having your sexual boundaries pushed, you may want to pass this one up.

That being said, if you are an erotica fan, this is definitely a novel for you. I won’t ruin the ending, but can say that, while unexpected, fit the story perfectly. This is the first novel I have read from Reisz, but it won’t be the last. A talented writer as well as storyteller with original creative ideas when it comes to sex, I look forward to reading more from her.

I should have learned by now that I just don’t like anything this woman writes. A hot cover does not make up for a uninteresting plot and unexciting erotic scenes.

I gives Brooks props for having a plot in the first place. Very few erotic authors even attempt it anymore. However, it wasn’t a plot that interested me. Max going after the piece of tail that got away? Eh. Elisa hiding because of some tabloids and ending up getting the man she wanted in high school. Meh…

The erotic scenes would have been good, if they hadn’t all been the same! It was like Brooks copy and pasted the scenes periodically throughout the book. There was no variety.

And I guess I just skipped the part where they fall in love, because when it ended, I was left sitting there asking “When did that happen?” I can’t say it’s the worst I have read, but it could have been a lot better.

I would like to say this was a cute romance novella but the heroine was too frustrating. Actually, both leads were but male protagonist’s was more understandable. The couple fell in love but, due to their relationship, are not allowed to be together. However, they still act like they are together, e.i. jealousy, touching, etc. That was all fine and dandy, but the female lead was too childish for me. Not to mention she seemed to cry on nearly every page. I don’t mind tears, they realistic. But this novel had too much.

Also for being the first in the series, there isn’t much background information. While it’s not absolutely necessary, it would have been much appreciated.

The author created a interesting universe with realistic characters (even though they weren’t my favorites). It ends with a pretty hot scene, but is overall pretty tame.

Ora et Labora
Who woulda thought? In 2007 (way before I was gaming) amongst the many new games released at Spiel, one stuck out especially. A game where you try to build a well-balanced farm consisting of crops, pastures and growing your family. No, I am not talking about Farmville! (I get that question over and over from newbies….ugh), I’m talking about Agricola. A game that has now conjured up a slew of awards from “Best complex game” by the Spiel des Jahres to even dethroning Puerto Rico’s 5 year running of highest rated game on the Geek. Uwe Rosenberg, the designer of the now much loved Agricola, has recently released “Ora et Labora” – A hot-off-the-press / sold-out almost everywhere game that I have very quickly formed an extreme love/hate relationship with.
So the good is the game rocks!

International intrigue, false identities, and a very clever cat will keep you guessing right up to the last moment of this cozy mystery. While meeting with a museum director to discuss a catering job, Nora finds herself also tasked with finding the director’s long lost niece and heir. When she isn’t running her sandwich shop, Hot Bread, Nora also spends some of her time looking into the disappearance of her cat Nick’s former owner, a detective who has been missing for some time. As cryptic messages come in, she eventually realizes that the two cases may be connected in some way. She just has to find the connection before the killer finds her!

Crime and Catnip is book #3 in the Nick and Nora mystery series, but even without having read the earlier two installments, I had no trouble figuring out who was who or what was going on.

Hot steamy action from the first page but soon wears a bit thin as there's more sex than storyline to the book and I'm finding I'm scanning through the sex scenes the further I get in to the book just in the hope of finding some thing more interesting. This would have been a good book if a little more thought had gone into the writing, it needs more depth. I disliked the crudeness of some of the descriptions and it could have been more sensual but THEN, just when I think this is going to be a standard read the last couple of chapters are captivating. They have feeling and emotion, everything the rest of the book didn't have and I'm now feeling robbed that the rest of the book wasn't the same.

In the end the last few chapter more than make up for the rest, this is an adult read and I did enjoy it in the end.

I'm 19% finished with this book and I have to put it down. My life is too short to read books that I cannot get into.

I was really excited to read this book. The advertising was spectacular and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to read a "Harry Potter with millenials." Unfortunately this book has fell so flat I'm having to DNF it. The characters seem to be extremely chiche & their descriptions were just awful. If this is supposed to be adult fiction you really don't need to have a description being "the hot" guy. I would expect more from any author.

The plot line seemed interesting enough but the writing has ruined any chance for me to enjoy it. It reads like a mix between young adult and middle grade fiction. This would be all fine and dandy if it wasn't being advertised as adult fiction.

All in all, I would not recommend this book.

I absolutely fell in love with this series from page 1! Incredible MC series that follows so many great characters where the guys are all just a bunch of big softies for their women. ;-) I love everyone in this group.. the brothers are hot, tough, alpha bikers who would do anything to protect their women and families. The ladies have all gone through so much and are all so different but all such interesting characters each with crazy stories and pasts of their own.

I've said this in past reviews throughout this series but what I love the most about it is that it follows everyone.. one book does not just cover one character or couple, but you are able to follow along with everyone's story throughout. LOVE IT! I've laughed and cried, feeling so close to these characters and am so sad I've finally reached the end. CAN'T WAIT for more books in this series!! HIGHLY recommended!!
