Wild, magnetic, and hot as hell - nobody does these like Lyne, man. One of the things I love most about this is that it's one of the sacred few of these that don't demonize kink *nor* make it a symptom of some trauma/mental illness; this is simply two consenting adults participating in a kinky relationship. They were getting this shit right in 1986, people - there's no excuse to keep messing it up 35 years later. Of course Rourke and Basinger have smoldering chemistry here too, their performances are so daring for the time and hold up airtight even today. Asks the devastating question of whether it's worse when passion is lost altogether, or when it becomes too consuming for one's reasonable expectations to handle? Also features a montage of the two leads fucking on a rainy alley staircase to loud 1980s synth music after beating up a random group of thugs - so you really get the best of both worlds. The last 20/25 minutes is the best work of Lyne's entire career. 80s MTV version of ๐˜๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ต๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜Ž๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜บ (still not quite as good as ๐˜š๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ, though).

TARZAN is the first book in The Reckless Order MC series. It's a short, sharp novella, full of sweetness and hot stuff. It was a quick read, but well worth it.

I haven't read the other series that this is a spin-off from. In fact, this is the first book I have read by her. It won't be the last! I loved not only her style of writing, but the romance in there. Yes, it's fast-paced. It is a novella, after all. But I loved how both 'Cherry' and Tarzan want a forever love, with romance galore, and they were happy with that AND each other. Plus, Keely's look? My favourite kind.

So many others I now want to hear from, but most especially Teddy - the one who doesn't want romance. I can't wait to see him fall.

A great read that starts off a new series with a bang. I just wish it had been a full-length novel, so I could get my fill of these two amazing characters.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
