You don’t have to be a woman of a certain age to read and enjoy The Change, but it will certainly help! It really left me wishing I had some form of power manifesting along with my hot flushes and my (sometimes!) irrational bouts of anger.
The main characters in The Change, Nessa, Harriet and Jo, all start to manifest unusual powers as they hit perimenopause. Harriet grows plants, particularly useful ones; Jo becomes extremely strong; Nessa sees the dead.
These women are set to put the backs up of the rich and powerful men of Mattauk, and seek revenge on behalf of the ghosts of the dead women who suffered at their hands.
The Change has some seriously feminist vibes - these women are fed up of being talked down to and objectified and it seems nature is out to give them a helping hand. I have to admit to being more than a little jealous!
I was utterly hooked, and really didn’t want to put this book down - I knew something even more exciting/ traumatising/ mind blowing was just over the next page!
Part of me would love a follow up to this, but I also rather like the fact that I’m left wondering what on earth could happen next!

TWISTER is a standalone novel in a wider selection of books set at the same time (ish) in the same town (ish). Daniel is looking after his daughter and his farm, while Marshall is trying to figure out what to do with his life. When a twister blows into town, all bets are off as they work together.
There are many parts of this story I loved - the meet-cute, Rose, Bucky, KAJIR!!!, Jackson - loved all of it. What I didn't get on so well with was the sheer speed of it. Also, there were a lot of hot topics covered, but none in-depth, again, because of the fast pacing.
This author is new to me, but I would definitely be happy to read more of her work. This had me laughing out loud at the over-the-top personalities, eyes leaking in the hospital, and the devastation at the farm, plus both during the wedding ceremony.
A fast-paced, fun read that I definitely recommend.

There are many parts of this story I loved - the meet-cute, Rose, Bucky, KAJIR!!!, Jackson - loved all of it. What I didn't get on so well with was the sheer speed of it. Also, there were a lot of hot topics covered, but none in-depth, again, because of the fast pacing.
This author is new to me, but I would definitely be happy to read more of her work. This had me laughing out loud at the over-the-top personalities, eyes leaking in the hospital, and the devastation at the farm, plus both during the wedding ceremony.
A fast-paced, fun read that I definitely recommend.

I was gifted my copy of this book.
Eva is Micah's sister, we met her and Pixie in book one, Immersion Play. It's not necessary to read that book, but it will give you a better picture of this group of people, and of what Micah went through. It has some relevance here.
I really enjoyed this, but I couldn't quite love it.
Why?? I dunno, but I love McIntyre's work, you know I do, I've followed her from the very beginning. My only reasoning would be, it's not you, its me.
I have some stuff going on in my personal life that is affecting my reading enjoyment.
I liked that both Eva and Pixie got a say. I liked the super smexy scenes which are at times, MORE than just Pixie and Eva.
I loved that the chemistry between these two was powerful and stays strong, even if Picie might lose her best friend and Eva might lose her brother.
I love that we catch up with all the guys from Whipped and some things are laid out for book 3.
I'm sorry I couldn't love it!

Tilt is a book with a lot going on. Annie is heavily pregnant and is at IKEA looking for a crib for her baby (Bean). She can’t find what she wants, and after an argument with the Ikea worker, she finds herself buried under a pile of the building due to a catastrophic earthquake. After the Ikea worker lets her out (she clearly doesn’t hold a grudge), Annie starts the long and dangerous walk to find her husband.
On the way, she reflects on her life, telling Bean the stories of her disappointments, buried ambitions, loves and hopes for the future (getting home, mainly!). It’s a long, hot, dangerous walk home for anyone, let alone a heavily pregnant woman. The catastrophic circumstances are vividly described, including the death of a woman, the lack of fresh drinking water, the abandoned cars and the desperation to keep her baby, herself and her husband safe.
It puts a lot of things into perspective for her and in a way, encourages the reader to look at what’s important in their lives (ok, that might just be me).
This is a gripping, unputdownable read/ listen, and Ariel Blake, the narrator, sounded perfect as Annie. Not that I necessarily needed this book being brought to life - it’s scary!

DADDY MARC'S GEM is the second novella in the Club Sensations series. Marc is a therapist and a Daddy, but a lonely one as he hasn't found his boy. Foster is an antiques dealer/restorer without a shop, in a place where he doesn't know anyone and was isolated before being dumped.
I loved how these two met and how it grew naturally. Foster has questions and needs answers before deciding - which is fair enough, in my opinion. Foster is also a sweetheart who has been dumped on by too many people and needs the love and affection Marc is more than happy to bestow on him.
Tate's story (Born Daddy) is mentioned during a conversation between Marc and Zane, who also makes an appearance with Ryan while Ty is only mentioned, so you don't need to have read book one to enjoy this one.
A short read but one I thoroughly enjoyed. Hot and spicy in places; loving, tender, and protective in others. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.
