Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2434 KP) rated A Date You Can't Refuse in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Dating expert Wollie Shelley takes a job for a private company attempting to teach their trainees how to interact well socially. But she's also trying to find out information on the company for the FBI. Is she in over her head? This book hooked me early on and didn't let me go. The pace was great and the humor added to the fun.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2434 KP) rated Popped Off (Stay At Home Dad Mysteries #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Stay-at-home dad Deuce Winters gets roped into tracking down the president of the local youth soccer league who has disappeared along with all the funds from the league. Can he find him before the rest of the soccer season is canceled? The humor in this book is great and the mystery shoots off in some wild, fun directions. I really enjoyed it.

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated Murder at the Moonshine Inn (Hazel Rose Book Group Mystery #2) in Books
Feb 21, 2018
Murder at the Moonshine Inn is a little edgier than most cozy mysteries, but it does just manage to stay cozy. It was a nice change to have the protagonist try to refuse to do the investigating, realizing how dangerous it would probably be, and then to finally agree to do it but only with the aid of her book group, and to a lesser degree, her husband.
The story is full of twists, turns, and humor, and should please both cozy and traditional mystery fans.

Funny (2 more)
Decent character development
Great action
My favourite Thor film so far
I loved the banter and wit here, although if I'm honest the development of Thors character means he understands humans more and more, which means we lose some of the humor in his confusion.
All that aside, it's still a good laugh and action packed enough that you can leave your brain at the door and enjoy another fun Marvel film.

Lacking something to keep it from greatness
The characters were all right. Humor was there. Generic plot I thought that dragged at times. Nothing really special and just kind of going through the motions.
The bad guys were sort of generic, maybe supposed to be this way, not quite sure. II'm not the biggest fan of generic CGI movies anyways; although I did just get a new TV so it looks amazing/fantastic.
Probably in the bottom third of the MCU.

I decided to listen to this book after my brother got me hooked on watching the TV show Parks and Rec. I thought that Amy had a fun storytelling voice and the tales are funny and interesting. My favorite parts were definitely those that were related to Parks and Rec. Stories about the cast and some really great behind the scenes facts. I didn’t always find myself being able to relate to Amy or sharing her humor, but overall I really enjoyed the read.
