Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated One For The Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A desperate Stephanie Plum takes a job as a bounty hunter for her cousin. And her first job? Tracking down her former high school boyfriend turned cop. A bit raunchy at times, but a fast paced and humorous series opener.

Humorous
Even death messes with Dresden.
This is much more light hearted than the previous novel. (if you haven't read side jobs I highly suggest you do before reading this book. or at least read the short story Aftermath.) I laughed so much. plus you get to meet new people and learn more about a few side characters (such as Morty).

Enjoyable and humorous introduction to Scott Lang with inspired casting of Rudd in a role that suits his bumbling and reluctant superhero persona.
It lacks outright action and substitutes the lack of action for comedic and amusing moments to good effect.
Its a light hearted addition to the Marvel canon and although not the strongest entry it's a worthy one.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Channel Blue in Books

[Channel Blue] by [Jay Martel] will make you question everything you know. In light of world events that are happening right now maybe we need to show a nicer side of humanity. If you are a fan of Kurt Vonnegut or Cory Doctrow you will enjoy the absurd but humorous spin [Martel] puts on humanity. The question is are you a comedy or tragedy?
Erika (17788 KP) rated The Philadelphia Story (1940) in Movies

I absolutely love this movie; the opening scene sold it for me. It holds up to current times, and is completely humorous. Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, and James Stewart were all great in this film. Hepburn's character is a socialite that is about to re-marry after a divorce from CK Dexter Haven (Grant), and Macaulay Conner (Stewart), is a tabloid reporter there for the scoop.
I love these two! They are humorous, loving, and very much together in wanting to share their personal and professional experiences with anti-aging treatments. This book is entertaining (love that they can poke fun of themselves) and extremely informative. While I don't believe in plastic surgery, I love that they give you a great deal of options to make yourself looking and feeling younger.
