"Timeless stuff that works on all levels. You can choose to experience this movie either as if you were living during a turning point in the twentieth century (Weimar Germany) or as an immersion into a fantastical world that only the best of movies can offer. M is both intellectually deep and a crackling entertainment—chilling, suspenseful, darkly humorous, and rich (in plot, characters, and visual design). There is also a terrific audio commentary by two German scholars."

"The breathtaking beauty of Alameddine’s prose alone makes this compulsive reading. Its true genius, however, lies in the sacrosanct ideas that the narrator—a translator of books that will never be read—lays bare with humorous irreverence, wry insouciance, or intellectual outrage. She is fearless in looking at aging and death, the morality of war and survival, and the true meaning of a meaningful life. She also gives advice on not dying your hair blue in bad light."

I wasn't expecting to like this book at all. I chose it on the fly to listen to as an audiobook. I was not disappointed. It was completely humorous. The novel rotated through three points of view, Edward VI, Lady Jane Grey, and Gifford Dudley. It definitely borrowed from the likes of the Princess Bride, Shakespeare, and Monty Python. There were some irritating parts, like when it quoted too much from those sources. In the end, I did really like it.

The men from Indiana have done it again. They have blended a variety of genres, decades, and themes to make another entertaining albumn. My teenage kids ask for me to replay some songs while there are others that I remember listening to while in the car with my mom when I was a kid. The mashups and humorous change in words and the classic renditions lead to another classic SNC albumn.

I read this book based upon @Sarah 's review. I don't typically read books like this; I genuinely liked this book a lot. It was humorous, and I liked the very small sci-fi element with the AIs. It was kind of predictable, but it didn't make me enjoy it less. The AIs themselves had very amusing personalities, and I liked the contrast between Aiden and the psychopath AI. I really liked all of the characters as well.
