"Another film with Alain Delon. It’s interesting — probably he was my favorite actor when I was 16, and then I was a bit disappointed of how he changed when he became older. I guess also politically, but that doesn’t matter. As a young man, he played some very enigmatic and wonderful roles. Another favorite film of mine … It’s a genre film, Le Samourai, by Melville. It’s an incredibly cool gangster film. Just the opening, I think, is 20 minutes where not a word is spoken and you always see Alain Delon with his hat and his trench coat. It is just an incredibly stylish and aesthetically wonderfully shot genre gangster film. In German, it’s the Ice Cold Angel, but the Germans always have these funny titles."

Down to Earth
This delightfully entertaining story is that belonging to Liz and hockey player Tom AKA "Micky".

Tom checks off every item on Liz's fantasy man list, and Tom thinks that Liz is a very interesting woman. What follows is a humorous and steamy story of the development of a relationship, which will leave you laughing out loud and wanting more.

As their relationship develops, Tom becomes a bit of a donkey's behind, allowing jealousy and possessiveness to take the forefront. But their mutual friends helped them to see sense.

Liz is a witty and down to earth woman with a love of beer, ice hockey and Marvel... A friendly woman with no family, and amazing best friends.

Really enjoyed reading Kissing Micky.

"Niggaz4Life is just… both the De La Soul albums had a cinematic quality to them, you can see those songs. With that being said, [on this album] Dr Dre had this sonic brilliance and pristine gangster music that just sounded brilliant. And it was orchestrated and sequenced very brilliantly, too. It seems like an awful lot of thought went into it. To me, it wasn't Gangsta with an 'a', it was Gangster with an 'er' - with a suit and tie. This is the business gangster; this isn't hold your gun sideways, this is Scorcese. Ice Cube not being there for this album was part of the appeal; everyone wanted to know what they'd be able to achieve without him. And it's a triumph."

"Delia Smith baked the cake for the front cover of this album. I guess I could have got Yotam Ottolenghi to make me a meringue for the front cover of The High Flying Birds or got Heston Blumenthal to make me some barbed wire ice cream for it. I could have gone for Their Satanic Majesties Request, it’s got ‘2,000 Light Years From Home’ and ‘She’s A Rainbow’ on it. And again for years I just had the Rolled Gold best of but this was the first album I heard by them when I really thought, 'Oh yeah… this is what it’s about… they’re not just ‘Satisfaction’ and ‘Let’s Spend The Night Together’.' ‘Gimme Shelter’ and ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, that’s more like it."

*I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

3.5 stars

This was cute but I missed out on the details in some of the ice scenes. The dance moves so I could look them up, the plays in hockey so I could do the same. We had a few mentioned during practise but I missed the thrill of competition, the build up to a win. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book.

The romance was sweet, a sort of not-spoken-despite-going-to-same-school-for-years to having to work together and slowly falling for each other. I liked it despite me being used to more steamy romances.

A great book if you like gentle, contemporary, young adult romances.

Somebody please tell me, at what point did a movie series about illegal street racing become a large, dumb, action blockbuster?

Because that's what this film is.

Don't get me wrong - I enjoy large, dumb, action block-busters!

Known in the UK as simply Fast and Furious 8, this one sees Dim - for reasons - turning against his former crew, leading to multiple car chases, explosions, fights, gunplay, muscle flexing and good cop/bad cop buddy buddy repartee between several of its core cast - the latter most noticeably between The Rock and Jason Statham, who now have their own spin-off movie - finally culminating in a long (20 minutes?) set piece across the frozen ice as they try to stop a stolen nuclear submarine from escaping to sea.

The final book in the series is the kinky but delightful story of the ice hockey team's quietest and restrained player Darren, and the equally secretive Charlene.

This delightful tale demonstrates that each individual loves very differently, that both in the relationship may not wish to unveil all their demons or air their skeletons in their closets, but things will always come out in the end.

Throughout the entire series we have seen these two individuals somewhat in the forefront, with hints of a match made in heaven, but nothing has ever been unveiled until now, and it comes with a non-disclosure agreement... what relationship comes with a NDA??

As with the previous novels, expect comedy, family, bad language and x-rated scenes.
