Faes Captive ( Faes captive book1)
By Lily Archer

My college roommate is the worst. Cecile steals my food, brings guys over at all hours, and parties instead of studying. But those quirks pale in comparison to what she does next. She drugs me, and I wake up imprisoned in an alternate universe full of terrifying creatures. Now, the biggest and scariest creature of all--a fae king--believes I'm his mate. He's freed me from the dungeon but keeps me close. So close, in fact, that I'm beginning to like his wintery gaze and ice-chiseled body. But secrets and villains lurk throughout this new world, and I don't know if I'll survive long enough to figure out how to get back home.
Author's Note: Fae's Captive is the first book in a series that will set your imagination--and other parts of you--on fire. Mind the cliff, but book 2 is already out.

Had so much potential but read as a novella instead of a novel! Short and apart from the kidnapping and palace escape (which I didn’t actually get why as he was a king in his own right wasn’t he? ) not much happened! I will continue hoping the others get better!

Sincerely abominable, I still currently have a long-standing headache caused from my face wincing throughout this entire movie. Thank Lord this was only 90 minutes because I felt like I needed a long, boiling hot, chemical-spill-grade shower after watching it. Every minute is an endurance test, once you get past one it feels like an accomplishment right up until you get to the next one - rinse and repeat - oh and they get progressively more and more truly sickening as they go along. Evidently this is pretty much tit-for-tat to what actually happened in the real life story, which makes it even more unsettling, and as a result I do think that this is more sensitive than people give it credit for even if it isn't fully absolved of some issues. The last 15 minutes are horribly rushed through, though while it - commendably - doesn't really go for a trashy/pulpy approach, it's still unbearably tense and crafts a fast food nightmare colored with traumatizing performances and ice-cold direction. Now more than ever a ruthlessly effective treatise on why we shouldn't be expected to hand over our basic human rights to someone simply because they're an authority figure.
