Lumos (380 KP) created a post in What did you play?

Apr 23, 2018
This weekend I got together with coworkers and played Telestrations and Joking Hazard. We were laughing the entire night. There was much alcohol consumed and, for that reason, the games both skewed in the realm of inappropriate. So, while I did take some pictures, they are a lot on the NSFW side so I can't post them here.

Telestrations definitely doesn't need to go that way and could be played with family, Joking Hazard... not so much. Both are fun games though, for sure!

An alright movie
To be honest I am not much of a movie person. That being said comedy really isn't my think but this one wasn't too bad. The language wasn't extremely rough, there were very few inappropriate jokes from what I can remember, and it wasn't even degrading to any specific group of people. It's been awhile since I've watched this but the entire tremors series is on that I don't mind watching (much to the delight of my husband who is a movie buff).

An addictioni love this
Love this app. I have always loved looking thru photos. IG, I can do that hours on end if I wanted. I am very impressed also with their service when reporting something inappropriate. They are very on top of their game in that area. With so many little eyes on IG, that is very important. They have always gotten back to me usually same day. Longest time ever was one week. I love searching a certain hash tag and finding thousands of pictures pertaining to it.

"My parents got divorced when I was about eight, and after that I moved with my mother from St. Louis to Boston. I became her movie pal, and she would take me to some very inappropriate movies! This was one of them. The Graduate has one of my favorite montages ever—that one where Dustin Hoffman jumps off a diving board and lands on Anne Bancroft’s chest! It’s sexy and beautiful, but it also captures how this young man spirals into a state of jadedness over the course of a summer."

I wish I had this as a teen to explain the things adults thought were too...."inappropriate"...for me to know, even in regards to my own body. LOVED all the little illustrations and how caring the author was when it came to thoroughly covering each topic....like self-care and body image. It doesn't preach or spout the usual advice that sounds like a broken record - it actively seeks to get teens to think about themselves as more of their own person, instead of an extension of what others want to see.

A depressing tale about victim blaming
This is a deceptively feminist book showing how society portrays women and how they are expected to behave. At first it resembled Albert Camus' The Stranger in which the protagonist is victimised for not behaving the appropriate way after a death. But it looked further into how a mother is essentially blamed for killing her children because she partook in inappropriate behaviour following their murder. The book is intelligent because it leads the reader away from thinking about the real killer and focuses on the mother. Right until the end you almost forget what the story is really about. Surprisingly enjoyable.
