CLERKS
Clerks is an indie comedy shot in black and white about dante hicks (Brian O'Halloran) a man reluctantly left in charge of the Quick Stop. His place of work...on his day off! Working with his best friend Randall (Jeff Anderson) at the adjoined video store (when it suits him) who's hate for his job and its customers become problematic for dantes attempt at a customer service a nice guy,
Problems continue as dantes continuous fight with girlfriend veronica and feeble attempts at getting back with his ex caitlyn, not to mention local dealers Jay (jason mewes) and silent Bob (kevin smith).
Released in 1994, and spawning a sequel and multiple spin offs, written and directed by Kevin Smith, CLERKS is a magic cult hit with characters we can all identify ourselves with.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Damsel (2018) in Movies
Jul 1, 2018 (Updated Jul 1, 2018)
I was psyched when the local indie theater added this film to their lineup this weekend, because I'd been wanting to see this since Sundance. I also love anything with Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska.
The damsels in the film are contrary to what you would ordinarily think, which was humorous. It was billed as a western-comedy, and normally, I'm all for off-kilter humor, but I didn't find it funny, it was more awkward. I think the only reason I was entertained was because of Pattinson and Wasikowska's characters, other than that, the story seemed to move at a snail's pace. The nearly two hour run time wasn't really necessary.
Overall, I wanted to like it more than I did. I'm only rating it an 8 for the actors.

I was expecting so much from this film, but wow, it was eye-roll inducing. I love strange, off-kilter indies, and social satires, but this did not work for me at all. It was trying too hard.
Between seeing Tessa Thompson in this, and Annihilation earlier this year, I've come to the conclusion that Thompson can't really act (sorry, just my opinion).
Also, how much did they pay Armie Hammer? Or did they not? Did he do it for free to build more indie cred so he can get an Oscar eventually? The only reason I'm rating it a 3 is because I think that Lakeith Stanfield can act, and he was by far, the best out of the lot of them.
I'm so glad I didn't pay for the ticket myself.

Franjpan (10 KP) rated Super Bunny Man in Video Games

An indie game about a guy in a rabbit costume. There are 40 exiting levels to roll, jump, float or fall though, including a story mode, co-op and multiplayer (up to 4). Find hidden carrots, race time attack ghosts, or simply just try to get to the end potal. While it is still not finished there are lots of great levels to get started on, although it is sure to cause frustration when you keep dying at the same point. We've all been in that situation when we get near to the end in the first try then it takes half an hour to get back there. But I think that this just makes it better when you finally finish a level. Overall a great game to play.

The best free thing ever
Look, I'm just going to say it like it is. This is free to download and it's absolutely incredible.
This is dark brooding Hip Hop, imagine world folk music instruments crafted in a blend of shadows that's work so perfectly. Then there is Shahmen himself. There are poetic lyrics delivered in his laid back bass of his voice. His voice is as bassy as the bass. Then to top it off he writes songs. Songs that are amazing.
It's hard to think this guy isn't huge but he isn't. He could be if everyone reads this and downloads it. ITS FREE. You won't regret it. Even though it's hip hop, indie and metal fans love this too. Awesome.
