"When Oasis first started, very early on we used to cover ‘Feel The Groove’ by Cartouche. There’s a tape of that live gig knocking about somewhere. I was the dance music head in the group. I was into indie music like everyone else, New Order, The Smiths and then one night in 1987 someone took me to the Hacienda because I’d been reading about this music and I just stood there, drinking Colt 45, thinking 'Well, this is shit…' But then someone else took me the week after and said, 'Have one of these.' And put a little pill in my hand. And within an hour I thought that this music was the greatest thing that I’d ever heard in my entire fucking life. It was a life changing experience. The thing about the Hacienda was it was a superclub before superclubs existed. Acid house only lasted two years and that was it at its best. If you go to a club now you might as well be listening to the same song all night. Back then they played everything, hip hop, electro, acid house, techno and it was all mashed up. It was on your doorstep and full of people who were skint. It was only two quid to get in, they sold Rizla behind the bar so you could skin up and acid and Es were just entering the cultural stream. They were the best years of my life and probably every other day since I’ve thought, 'I wonder what those tunes were called?' Then I heard this album was coming out, I put it on at home and I was instantly transported back into that nightclub. And I thank the people who put this album out. It reminds me of great days when I was young and enjoying life to the full."

Amusing Yarn With Lovecraftean Spin
Night Vale was the first podcast I ever listened to. It had me hooked from the start. I did binge listen to catch up from episode one, but after that, I found it a bit annoying to try to listen to more than 5 or so episodes at a time. They're fairly short, but can start to feel repetitive if you get too far behind and have to catch up that way.

Fans of Lovecraft, Call of Cthluhu RPG, and other classic horror, as well as conspiracy theory fans (I'm sure this will fit, but I'm not one to know for a fact), will love Night Vale. It is aired with a serious tone but still somehow light-hearted. The voice acting is superb and the writing top-notch.

Some of my favorite segments are the music breaks. Some episodes have wonderful indie artists on them for one song and they will give out some information about the bands and songs so you can locate them on the internet and find their music. I think this is a terrific idea, using their listener base to help give exposure to working musicians.

Serial stories involve romance, disappearances, aliens, and anything else you could ever dream up. If you're a writer yourself, it might even spark your imagination!

Woodshock (2017)
2017 | Drama, Thriller
Kirsten Dunst's 𝘙𝘦𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. Something about plants or some shit idek, trees haven't made this little sense since 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 but by God would you *look* at it? At its best unbelievably emotive and ethereal, you could even call it fragile by the way its temperamental existence unendingly slips in and out of consciousness. At its worst the same mopey, stupid, meandering indie trappings that A24 had an intolerable fetish for that year but still done wildly better than the likes of shittier 2017 fare such as 𝘈 𝘎𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺, 𝘐𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘈𝘵 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, and 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘗𝘦𝘵𝘦. Kind of wish this just dropped the subpar 10% of a story that leeches onto the otherworldly artistic bouts of pot-fueled dainty chaos but it honestly doesn't get in the way too much. Too many gorgeous frames to even count. Spent the last half hour of this with watery eyes and mouth agape not only for its sheer beauty, sheer singularity in spite of genre trope reusage... but for how commandingly it bats for the fences and doesn't let up even a little bit. Not concerned for a second about being coherent or restrained at all beyond one feature length bad, trippy, fully immersive high. Pretty much a live action Nicole Dollanganger music video.
