Special Effects for Kong (2 more)
The acting is fairly good....
John C Reilly
The first half of this movie is a 10... once they hit the island AMAZING, then slowly downhill from there.
So I watched this movie one night, not expecting much but a show of primal force against modern technology and got exactly what i was looking for, but better than I expected. the foreboding on the island it palpable and delicious... The exotic species and fantastical creatures are appropriate and amazing. Really gets the imagination going. John C Reilly really rescues the ending in a lot of ways and makes it tolerable. Still a worthy watch.
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2103 KP) rated Berried to the Hilt (Gray Whale Inn Mystery, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A sunken ship is found off the coast of Cranberry Island, Maine, and soon two rival groups are trying to identify and claim the wreck. Both teams are staying at Natalie Barnes' inn on the island, so when the leader of one of the teams is killed, she's in the perfect position to figure out who done it. I had forgotten just how much I love these characters; it was great to see them again. The plot dragged in the middle, however, before picking up again for the climax.

Dean (6925 KP) rated Murder Mystery 2 (2023) in Movies

Ok follow up
A follow up to @Murder Mystery (2019) that doesn't seem to have had much publicity. Just popped up on Top picks this week.
Much the same formula as before our detective couple are invited to a wedding on a remote island, perfect setting for a murder or not?
Didn't really make great use of the remote island setting and less of a Murder Mystery this time round with more action. Still very fun scenes nearly all with the main couple on screen. Maybe not as lavish as the first but still a fun film.
