Can Annie Catch a Killer at Christmas?
Annie gets a surprise this Christmas when her father, Pudge, walks into her store. He’s on the island because his ex-sister-in-law has summoned the family together. Annie winds up on hand when she makes an announcement that upsets everyone. The next night, someone dies and Pudge becomes the prime suspect. But Annie doesn’t think he’s the killer. Is she right?

This book seemed to wander a bit with the set up, and I was wondering when it was going to get to the point. But when it did, it was great with several twists that surprised me and an ending that wrapped everything up well. We didn’t see as much of many of the regulars, but Laurel has some fantastic scenes. We also get to know some of the suspects better than is often the case. The Christmas element was subdued, but the references to other mystery authors and books was toned down, which was great. This is another book that fans of cozy mysteries will love.

Today is Dydd Santes Dwynwen—the Welsh Day of Love 💕, a celebration rooted in the story of Saint Dwynwen, the patron saint of lovers in Wales. According to legend, Dwynwen prayed to be freed from a love she could not have, and her devotion and compassion led her to become a protector of others’ hearts.

Her story is remembered each year on January 25th, especially in connection with Llanddwyn Island on Anglesey, where a well dedicated to her was once believed to hold omens for the future of relationships. Over time, the day has become a Welsh alternative to Valentine’s Day, marked by cards, small gifts, and traditional lovespoons—beautifully carved wooden tokens symbolising affection, commitment, and care.

Today feels like a gentle invitation to celebrate all forms of love: romantic, friendship, family, and the quiet kind we offer ourselves. May your day be filled with warmth, kindness, and a few heartfelt moments to share with those who matter most. 🌹✨

Maybe, Perhaps, Possibly by Joanna Glen is a slow burn love story - and one like I’ve never read before. Ok, so I’m not a huge romance reader, so I’m no expert, but I loved the way that this story was in no rush to throw Addie and Sol together. Addie wants to learn how to be independent, away from her small island life and here controlling mother. She wants to find what she’s good at.

Sol, on the other hand, just doesn’t know how to tell Addie that he really cares. In fact, I think he’s scared of rejection. Something both of them fear after difficult childhoods.

They’re both awkward, sweet young people, both scared of letting the other know how they feel. I felt as though I was reading a fairy tale, the third person narrative helping this along, and I adore a fairy tale.

I just loved how this story unfolded - something that Joanna Glen does so well - and how Sol and Addie learned to let go of their inhibitions and hold on to one another. It’s a beautiful story.

This series just gets better and better!!

Hayden is completely comfy in her new role as the newspaper editor and her life in Destiny falls. She is even falling in love! More excitingly there is a medieval festival being held on the forbidden island that has everybody a buzz with excitement! Hayden then finds the newspaper office headquarters has been broken into and there is a dead body in the archive room and this is just the begging of this adventure can this mystery be solved?

Elizabeth puts so much enthusiasm into her stories they are a joy to read. The right amount of intrigue and mystery so you don't find yourself getting frustrated because it seems to have gone on forever and nothing is being figured out. Also, the right amount of everything else to bring it all together so nice and neatly. I can't help hoping that maybe there will be a double wedding in the future of destiny falls?

Magnificent job again Elizabeth can't wait for the next instalment 4/5
