Monsterland
So spotted this on Netflix and wasn't too sure about it. Glad I gave it a go though. Set in the near future where bugs and reptiles have become huge Monsters and the few people alive have been living in bunkers for years. A guy decides to take a dangerous journey to meet his love in a different colony.
This is a lighthearted Monster film, with more comedy and action than Horror. Kinda of a similar theme to Zombieland. Quite heartfelt as he goes on his journey and learns have to survive this new world. The creatures look great and SFX are very well done. Very entertaining if also predictable, but you'll enjoy the adventure.

The easygoing, episodic structure of their journey gives “Faces Places” a deceptively casual air. The film works just fine as an anthology of amiable encounters and improvised collaborations.

I miss Brendan Fraser being in big movies. Re watched The Mummy (1999) last night. Probably going to go through my collection of Brendan Fraser movies and review each one, including;

The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
Bedazzled
Looney Tunes: Back In Action
George of the Jungle
Journey to the Centre of the Earth

And maybe some more :)

Phenomenal.

On May 2nd, 2008 Nick Levil opened fire on his classmates and then turned the gun on himself.

This follows the story of his girlfriend, and the after math she is left with.
This book had me in tears from the start.

Beautifully Written.

Raw and emotional, this was a journey i will never forget.

My kind of hilarious, honest travel guide
Bill Bryson's journey through the US is laugh out loud hilarious. His quick wit, extremely dry sarcasm and general shock of travelling around North America is exactly what every travel guide should say. He's scathing about his outlook for good reasons, at the same time he still loves his home. Brilliant read.

Turn rejection from a bad thing to a not-bad thing
It reminded me a lot of Gretchen Rubin's "The Happiness Project" in that it integrated his story with research he came across during his journey. While it was enjoyable, that aspect of it was unexpected and, at times, kind of boring. Overall though, highly recommended.

Yet another fabulous story. With the kidnapping of Jacqueline before her ceremony and Fane and the other wolves racing to save her, you experience this tales from two completely different angles and areas.

The heart warming connection that comes with their bonding and the resulting revolution of Jen's heritage creates a brilliant end before their journey to Romania.
