**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
Based on a true story, Valerie Fraser Luesse’s new novel takes readers on an incredible journey of self-discovery. The poignant prose, enchanting characters, and captivating settings in The Key to Everything make this a moving story that readers won’t soon forget. Peyton Cabot’s fifteenth year will be a painful and transformative one. His father, the reluctant head of a moneyed Savannah family, has come home from WWII a troubled vet, drowning his demons in bourbon, and distancing himself from his son. When a tragic accident separates Peyton from his parents, and the girl of his dreams seems out of reach, he struggles to cope with a young life upended.

Pushed to his limit, Peyton makes a daring decision: he will retrace a slice of the journey his father took at fifteen by riding his bicycle all the way from St. Augustine to Key West, Florida. Part loving tribute, part search for self, Peyton’s journey will unlock more than he ever could have imagined, including the key to his distant father, a calling that will shape the rest of his life, and the realization that he’s willing to risk absolutely everything for the girl he loves.

An Adventure awaits
A tail of adventure and intrigue awaits. You follow a story of a journey that leads you far from the only place you have ever known. It is a tale of wonder and sorrow. It starts off slow but really picks up. It has a wonderful ending and shows the true meaning of friendship and loyalty. If you have never read this I would highly recommend it.

This was one of those rare times where I watched the movie before reading the book. Even knowing what was going to happen didn't detract from the beautifully written and well thought journey. Full of entirely relatable feelings of not belonging, young love, heartbreak, the heart wrenching battle with tragedy, and more. Mia's battle with choosing to live on or to succumb to the tragedy that is thrown upon her is a worthy one to experience. Highly recommend.

This is the first book in this series by this author. You will fall in love with the characters as you read. I just couldn't put this book down, I was hooked. This is a bit of an emotional read as you take the journey with the characters. I can't wait to read more in this series and by this author in the future.
Highly recommended
