It's been some time since I read a Jocelyn Green novel, and let me tell you this....it was so refreshing to get back to her books. This book, filled with beautiful historical detail, took me on a journey to Montreal, and kept me hooked until the last page was reached.

Catherine, Samuel, Bright Star, and the amazing characters truly became a part of my soul. I loved following them on their journey. The rich detail of the French and Indian War was depicted beautifully. It came to life for me, making me feel a part of Catherine and Samuel's lives.

If you love history, hope, longing and mercy, then grab this book up. It's tenderly written, and will wrap you up as you read through these pages. As a reader, the emotions will flow through you the further into the story that you get. I highly recommend this with 4 stars and two thumbs up.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.

This is a must-have books for anyone's collection, whether they are Pagan or not. At some point in your life, you will make a descent to the Dark Goddess. Whether this is by choice or not is irrelevant. It is also a descent that people will resist and fight but will ultimately lose as they travel downwards. This is a journey that everyone NEEDS to make, to see their soul complete. Without darkness there is no light and life should be about balance.

I have made my own descent many times, the first one that I am conscious of was 10 years ago. This book helped me to understand things that I had only touched the surface of. It centers mainly around the Sumerian Goddess Inanna and the Greek Goddesses Persephone and Psyche, although other Dark Goddesses are mentioned. The books contains preparations, meditations and rituals to help you work through your journey.

A wonderful book to add to your collection that you will want to read again.

Old Movie Revisited: Sleeping with Other People. Yea most rom coms suck balls, but this one did not. It's an IFC production so that might explain some of it. I dunno, a good cast might help a tad too. First and foremost it stars Alison Brie, and fuckin A, she is hott! Also stars Jason Sudeikis, Amanda Peet, Jason Mantzoukas, Andrea Savage, Adam Scott, and a bunch of smaller pop ins from a bunch of todays funny people: Adam Brody, Billy Eichner, Natasha Lyonne, but anyways...Sudeikis and Brie play friends who a long time ago at college they lost their virginity to each other, and seperated ways and only bumped into each other years later at a sex addicts meeting. And so its about them finding friendship and not falling into bed together, and this is a rom com so you can see the ending a million miles away, but it's the journey that counts...and this journey includes Alison Brie being scantily clad, several times, so for that alone its worth it. Go ahead watch it!
