Book Favorite

"A monster of a book, where you get to learn about the world and the people that we are. It is a book that I tried to read several times before finally reading it through, each time wishing I didn’t have a couple of kids on my shoulder or the roaring engine sound of a modern kitchen in my ears. It is simply the perfect book when you have time to really focus and think."

<b>Snakes on the Job</b> ~ I was hooked on this one from the first page. I loved the cool display of different machines/vehicles and that names were associated with them; kids love pointing to them and asking, “what is that?” they also love all the bright colors too. I liked how <i>Kathryn Dennis</i> also emphasized teamwork to get things done and how we can include everyone in our play.

"The kids' book. You have to read it again to get what I'm talking about, but to the whole thing is an explanation of how language breeds duality, which then creates preference. Do you like my hat? The object of life is to break through that and get the party, which means transcending preference. The dogs finds it up the tree, which is a little too Christian for my taste, but they do get there."

Sublime fairy tales of despair that depict the adult world as a toxic environment for kids to exist in. Secret treasures kept in the hearts of children must be safeguarded from the corruption of an adult world full of certainty and arrogance. Both films are so beautiful and so dark—they truly make me weep in awe."
