Ben Ripley is thrilled to have completed his first semester at spy school and is looking forward to a summer to relax with family and friends. Unfortunately, he has to attend Spy Camp instead. Worse yet, evil organization SPYDER is after him again. Either he will join them or be killed. The action is not stop and we get to know the main characters a little better. Mix in a dose of humor, and you've got a winner that kids and adults will all enjoy.

Origami Jewelry by Mayumi Jezewski is a book about beautiful origami jewelry that gives easy to follow instructions. The jewelry style are for all ages. Some for kids. Some for teenagers. Some for young adults. Lastly, some for adults. The jewelry will not last for ever but what I like most is that it can be made to fit your style. It am not very good at origami but I found it fun to create some of the jewelry.

I received an advance reader edition of this book from Dover Publications via NetGalley for the purpose of providing an honest review.

Not the Disney movie that is for sure.
Kipling's The jungle Book is as odd as reading the original version of Tarzan. You anticipate something like the Disney movie of the same name and it is not that at all. Not better, not worse, just very different.

It was interesting while reading through this the different ways that the characters are handled and the difference in how Mogli grows and changes throughout the story. Much more than just the story we watched as kids in the movie, The Jungle Book is certainly one of those classics you should read just to knock it off your bucket list.

Make In A Day Paper Flowers by Amanda Evanston Freund was a great example of this type of craft book. It was packed out with different flower designs so you would certainly get you moneys worth from this edition. It had easy to follow instructions alongside the list of supplies each flower would need and vibrant pictures of the finished product. This came along at a good time as it was half term and the kids were happy to join in and were super proud of the flowers they had made. If you are into this kind of craft, you cant go wrong with this book.

What a Star
Alright, My boy Lolly deserves, like, none of this shit. What a pure child. Alright, as a kid that's also kinda from the hood, I can tell you, it's really that bad. However, this book encapsulated it perfectly, and the added small details made it all the better.

One thing I really like was that Lolly's obsession with Legos was well done. I think Moore really showed how a kid, who was just twelve would feel. Little kids dealing with adult stuff is something that shouldn't happen, but still does. However, Moore makes it inviting, and yet not. Oof. This review is getting problematic.

Last thing: LGBTGIA+ friendly!!!

Dark
I found this one on Netflix. It's fairly dark, but doesn't start off that way. Involves a woman and her boyfriend traveling through Bosnia when their car breaks down in the woods(filled with mines) and they meet a couple of Serbian men who claim to want to help but ignite memories from her childhood during the war. Her boyfriend finds out just what she's made of when the two men turn out to be not so helpful. Decent acting and cinematography. The story unfolds well. I doubt kids would be interested, but this movie is worth a watch. Very interesting tale.

Watched this horror/comedy "crazed killer" movie on Netflix(not exclusive). The cinematography was fine. The acting was over the top (purposefully, I believe). The story was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen in a movie. It starts out simple enough, but just gets weirder and weirder as it goes on. The characters aren't exactly "deep". I wouldn't recommend this for kids(because of some gross scenes-your call) but if you're into dark comedy horrors, you'll enjoy this one. I managed to finish it(with a lot of eye rolling and a few chuckles). The end had me smh(goofy). It's worth a watch if you're bored.

Not really sure what theI point of this film was.
To me this movie made no sense other than promoting self acceptance, love and family dynamics.
I went into it expecting a scifi, empowering, adventure story, instead I found it overall lacklustre. I was honestly bored after half an hour which rarely happens and the disappointing thing was, that this could have been a great film, it had good potential.
Im not even sure this film would appeal to kids to be honest.
However I would say its very colourful and the visuals are pretty good.

There's another version of this movie that's really good. You might consider checking it out. Part of the problem I had with this version was Oprah's demanding that God and Christianity be taken out. Those beliefs were a huge part of the book, and to take them out ruins the story.

I'll have to check them out then, cos this story did seem a bit gaping, perhaps the other version has more meaning then

The Lodgers (2017)
The Lodgers (2017)
2017 | Horror
This movie was on Netflix. It's about twin siblings cursed by an incestual family curse. The sister is trying to break it and get free of it and their old house. It's an Irish tale(at least, it takes place in Ireland). The acting was good and the imagery was pretty creepy. Overall it was a decent "creepy" movie. It's listed as horror but it's not really scary. It's kind of slow moving, but keeps the interest. Between the subject content and the little bit of nudity I'd say it's not for kids. It's worth a watch if you're bored and/or into these kind of creepy, "old style" movies.
