I was in two minds about reading this book I just wasn’t feeling it from the synopsis. But I’m so glad I did as I really enjoyed it! The whole story and way it was written was so emotionally charged.
The characters and story were so easy to read and fall in love with!
Think I need myself a lumberjack.

I originally started to read this book on my mum's kindle years ago but never got round to progressing past the first few chapters. So when I was going solo on a day trip to London,I needed something light to read on the plane and I decided that it was the perfect time to pick it up again.
A light read is really what this is, it doesn't stretch you very much and not a lot actually happens yet it's written in such a way that it keeps you engaged and wanting to read on.
The ending however, everyone always tells of the ending right? well the ending is annoyingly open ended forcing you to question everything you just read.
I ended up bringing it to America with me as well just so I could finish it which I inevitably did. And when I finished, I guess you could say that I was satisfied, I wasn't left hungering for more or wishing it had ended pages ago so I guess that's just the sign of a good book.

The Whisperer in Darkness is a 26,000-word novella by American writer H. P. Lovecraft. Written February–September 1930, it was first published in Weird Tales, August 1931. Similar to The Colour Out of Space (1927), it is a blend of horror and science fiction. Although it makes numerous references to the Cthulhu Mythos, the story is not a central part of the mythos, but reflects a shift in Lovecraft's writing at this time towards science fiction. The story also introduces the Mi-go, an extraterrestrial race of fungoid creatures.
I really got into this story! He has a way of making you actually question whether there is life out there like that! Then you finish the book and realise it was just that a story! Told by a man with such an amazing imagination! I don’t know why I waited so long to read these!

This is the last book in the series! How am I going to survive without more Kieran and Lexi and co?
Anyway, they are now at the Magical Summit. Kieran is hoping for his place as San Francisco's Demigod to be approved as well as his link to Alexis. In the meantime, every Demigod's minions are prowling the grounds of the ginormous estate looking for battles, including Lexi and co.
This was quite fun. It was clear to see that Lexi and the gang were some of the most skilled fighters in the place. We met some fun characters and some stuff comes out that I hadn't expected, which was great. And then that end bit with Jack. I really do love this group of people.
I don't have the words to express how much I enjoyed this.
And then that bit with the green eyed jinn and Daisy... I'm thinking she may get her own series where that bit will be explored.

So I'm currently reading my backlog of books--the ones that have been on my kindle since late 2012/early 2013.
And I have to say why did I not read this sooner?! I loved it.
4.5 stars, instead of 5 simply because of all the giggling. I think even Blake giggled at one bit, which made me laugh but seemed rather surreal.
The story itself, though... God, I'm a sucker for a good romance and this was so heartfelt. He'd loved her forever and she ended up with someone else, so for them to get a second chance... *sigh* I was having a good swoon over this one.
I'm not always a fan of children in my romance books but how could I not love these three? They were adorable! I couldn't stop smiling/laughing throughout at some of the stuff that came out of the kids mouths and just in general.
This was definitely something I enjoyed and I look forward to reading more books by the author.

This one follows Liam, the youngest Cross brother, and Iris, a waitress at Liam's older brother's restaurant. It seems Liam has been watching Iris for a while, almost from the start of her time working for Lee and has been intrigued by her. Iris is homeless and struggling for every penny she earns so she can begin renting someplace. She acts tough and stays disconnected from her colleagues as she doesn't know how they'll take her living situation but then Liam takes a serious interest in her and she struggles to keep him at length.
This was actually super cute for such a short read. I still love all the Cross family and Liam has changed a lot from that little punk in Lee's story.
I liked the Bowie thing that Iris had going on and that Jareth is my favourite version of him, too. I love Labyrinth. It's been one of my favourite films since I was a kid.
I'm looking forward to the last book and Trevor's full story.

But, when they arrive at a town bound under the spell of a strange group known as "The Firestarters", Caitlin starts to realize that this could be a lot more difficult than planned.
It's time for Caitlin to jump out of the frying pan, and into the fire....
I really enjoyed reading this second book in the series it had more depth than the first although I enjoyed that one too! The characters are developing well and I love the dynamic between Caitlin, maryanne and Kain. Looking forward to the next challenge and possibly meeting the pack!

This light and at times steamy kicked off the start of 2021 with a bang (of bodies hitting the boards, and the clashing of hockey sticks as pucks hit the ice)!
Austen hosts a popular online section for the Dallas Devils, going on "dates" with the players and introducing them to the fans... All went well until it was the turn of jock Dane, an athlete with a reputation for disliking the media and being a fan of the puck bunnies!
What follows for the duo with a great deal of chemistry, is a bumpy road which threatens to impact both of their careers and their relationship!
The first in the Dallas Devils series, and Winters does not disappoint with this contemporary sports romance. It was an easy read with a great deal of depth, well paced and oozing chemistry.
The story progression worked well with Winters' writing style, with added drama from a historical back story which is explained in further books, and a great antagonist.
Hoping book 2 is just as interesting!
