"The film that restored grace and poetry to Berlin and the German language after forty years of stereotypical war movies featuring stereotypical German actors playing the parts of stereotypical Germans. The fog of war had settled over Birmingham when I came along in 1960, and there was no moving it for some time. Nothing about Germany was to be trusted, as even its postwar art was tainted by the events surrounding the Holocaust, unsurprisingly. But I was glad when this movie came along, despite the awful history of the twentieth century, as it allowed me to love Germany for what it is now, its language, the sound of its spoken word and all its formidable arts. Wim Wenders must surely be Germany’s greatest living director."

"Essentially an autobiography tracing the author’s own family’s move from Europe to what is now Israel and the disappointment of immigration. His mother killed herself, and he’s spent much of his life creating scenarios of why that happened. The process of meditating on her life makes him into a writer. The book is also about the birth of a language. He talks about his great-uncle, who was one of the architects of modern Hebrew, and how there didn’t used to be a word for shirt until he created it, because Hebrew had been a biblical language. It’s so interesting to think about what comes before the process of naming something—how you struggle when you don’t have the words to say what you feel."

I had to read this for one of my classes on Literary Theory. I think the combination of a very boring class and very uninteresting subject matter made me dislike all of the articles in this course packet. There was more information on language and history than there was on actual literary theory, which was kind of disappointing.

Great sequel to an entertaining show!
I binge-watched the second season in 24 hours! Nine episodes in 24 hours. I've NEVER have done that before, I am TRULY obsessed with this show.

Action Packed but Still Fun
I enjoyed this movie. Watched it with my 9 year and his buddy. We both enjoyed all of the action as well as the humorous parts between Davis and George.
There is some language, but nothing my son and I couldn't handle. Good for enjoying as a family.

This is a DNF for me, which was a bummer cause I was hopeful about it. It’s said to be like Scooby Doo and Cthulhu and it had potential but for me I quit after there kept being language since I try my best to read clean reads so this was a no go for me.

I thought this book was really nice. The language was simple for children to understand and it had loads of really good images. I think that this series is meant to be encouraging girls to be whatever they want - which is great! - but it was unclear that the astronaut was female and this might deter girls a bit....maybe.
