BookCritics (259 KP) rated Words In Deep Blue in Books

What I liked - the characters, the bookstore, some of the language. What I didn't like - the amount of time it took to get to the heart of the matter. Something about the conflict avoidance in this book felt off to me

Young adult and above fairytale for the imaginative
Neil Gaiman knows how to weave words in an elaborate pattern so that within a few lines you are no longer reading the novel but are part of the story

Gap of Time
Enjoyed the book. The book is beautiful and clever, emotionally wrought and profoundly intelligent it will pull the reader into its wise world of jealousy, paranoia, grief, revenge and forgiveness in the stunning prose; however, I would like to add that the author could have conveyed its character Leo's anger and message across without the heavy use of foul language.
Ruth Frampton (577 KP) rated A Message for Grandma in Books

A great story about a little girl's adventure across her families farms to take a message in German for her grandma, she keeps up with her responsibility despite many adventures and possible distractions. A wonderful ending for the young serves to highlight how the language of love can be universal despite generational gaps and reluctance to learn the “old tongue”.

quite balanced play
pocket sized
Word heavy so not great with players with differing grasps on the language, (1 more)
can have run away victories with no hope of recovery
True to its root of a quick play
Overall a fun game relying on cooperation. Game play can easily be grasped, with games lasting between 5 minutes to 15

A breath of fresh air
A gorgeous, adorable read that makes it impossible not to like Simon, the context and events. This would have been a 5 but for slow pacing in the first half and a few sticky language issues I had. I'm so glad I read it and the last half had me feeling all the feels possible.

honestly? my favorite classic (after P&P of course). It's beautiful, sad, and full of gorgeous moments. i genuinely love this book so much like i cannot express it. the language is simple, which made it an easy read for 2nd grade me, and the characters and storyline played out particularly well. i truly loved this story and everything about it.
Downloaded this as a free book to try something different and binged the whole trilogy in 2 days! The story has likeable characters and is fast paced. It is not too fantastical as some time travel books can be and the language wasn't too scientific or technical.

Fun and unique. I enjoyed reading a book that had been written in another language initially, kind-of eye-opening. I like the premise, but it's a little slow at some points and at other points it seems a little... too technical. Often I got confused on which character was which. But worth checking out if you are into contemporary science fiction!!!
