More time travelling adventures!
We learn the true origin of the ‘old timers’ in this volume - and I have to say, it was a bit of a shock!
The girls are still in the future - and what a future it is! The people seem to have their own language, police officers are on flying motorbikes and seem to hand out immediate judgements (Judge Dredd, anyone?).
Of course lots more happens, but I don’t really want to say anything. Suffice to say, it’s shocking, the girls continue to be badasses, and we meet some old friends. And I want to ride a pterodactyl.

Inside out...
With beautiful illustrations and interesting subject matter, this book is a win-win with curious children. and although it is quite short, it fills a child with wonder and lets them take in what they want before progressing to more challenging reading material. With appropriate technical language used, this book would be good in a school library and would work well for project work as well as curious individuals.
I am reviewing this book for Luann Columbo, Quarto Publishing, and NetGalley who gave me a copy of their book for an honest review.

Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn is a hilariously quirky exploration of free speech, and what happens when it gets taken away. Full of whimsy and guaranteed to make you smile! I enjoyed this book so much, that I tend to re-read it every now and again - just to renew my appreciation for letters and words.

It's a quick and fun read, won't take you much time at all, but be ready for tongue twisting silliness that increases in hilarity as the book goes on. A must-read for any lover of the English language.

Ssshhhhh!
I wasn't sure about this film to start with but gave it a go.
The main story is basically about a family who have to be quiet or the alien type monsters that live within the grounds will attack.
The family use sign language to communicate and have mastered various methods for getting around the house and local area without making any noise.
It is a survival film and although it was strange watching a film with barely any talking in it i did actually enjoy it!

Dramatic
I did enjoy the book by the end and the story was interesting. It just seemed very dramatic and at times cliche. The main character was diificult to believe, as the blurb describes them as a 13 year old boy. The language used by the 13 year old boy was a bit far fetched and he came across wiser than his years. I realise it is written as a looking back novel but it was difficult to like a 13 year old that speaks like a 30+ year old man.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, I think the main draw of this for me (and, I'm sure, many others) is Angelina Jolie's character of Fox, with lowly frustrated office worker Wesley (a pre X-Men James McAvoy) discovering he is the son of a famous assassin, and that he shares his fathers almost superhuman killing ability.

There's a fair point to the criticism that this is almost a Matrix rip-off, but I have to say: this is far nastier (doesn't shy away from the guts and gore aspect) and filthier (language wise) than that earlier movie.

I love this app. It's great that you can download tracks to listen to offline. It pauses if you get an incoming call. It remembers where you paused so you can come back to it easily. I also like that you can change the reading speed as at first I found it too slow. I'm so chuffed that my library is a part of this. I do find it a bit faffy to find books. Especially foreign language books (of which I'm still to find)
