Nina is about to have a meeting with Cindy when a Leif appears that seems to have no bearing on the Leif she knows. She finds out that he is from the future... and that they are mates. However, he is here on a mission which will have future repercussions. Let the games commence.
With time paradoxes, bizarre rituals, language implants (which I could really do with!), plus trying to figure out the butterfly effect and how not to kill your friends, there is something in this novella for everyone. Although short, it packs a punch, giving you everything you would expect from an Erin Kellison book.
Very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this is a brilliant addition to the series; thoroughly enjoyed and definitely recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

I seriously had no idea what this book was even about. I saw it displayed in my library and just thought "Heck, why not?"
As the cover suggests, five friends have their lives change on the night of Olivia's 17th birthday party. Yep, you guessed it; There in Olivia's very own bathroom is her friend Nicola, and out pops a new addition to the gang.
I read this book quickly (which I know is not unusual for me) and didn't struggle doing so. It was an easy read, with a section following each character individually. The writing style and language is adapted slightly to suit each character, to allow full submersion of the reader into the book.
There are surprising elements in the story which, after being read, will seem strangely obvious. I love this sense of foreshadowing in a book. And despite the title, this book isn't really focused on "the baby" alone. Instead it tells each character's solo story, including all their troubles - baby- or not-baby-related.
As I said before, The Baby is a nice, easy read, with a somewhat carefree sense about it. I can't say I relate to it in the sense of having a new baby around, but there are aspects that I can say I have experienced. So I'm going to give it 4 stars, more than I originally suspected it would earn.

This may be the fifth book in the series, but this is the first time we are seeing Bess and George, Nancy’s usual sleuthing companions. They jump right in here for another action-packed story. The general plot outline is fairly obvious early on, including a massive coincidence in the story, but that didn’t keep me from turning pages as quickly as I could. As an adult I find the characters thinner than I remember, but we still like them enough to care about the outcome. Since the book was last updated in the 1950’s, some of the language is a little dated (it even stopped me a little), but I doubt it will slow down today’s kids as they race to see how Nancy will piece together this fun mystery.
