Life for Adults
This is the spirtual successor to The Game of Life. Unlike Life, you have choices. You choose a career, parterner, hobbies, and interests. Your job is to manage the finite time that humans have to harness the maximum possible happiness. Maybe you do that with a parter, who makes you happy, but takes your time? Maybe you forget about friends and family and pursue the maximum possible posessions.

If you can handle the steep learning curve and long game times, this is a fun deviation from the standard board game theme.

I still really want to try this game..... I might just have to break down and buy it without playing it first...

You might you might be able to find a board game place where you can play it without purchasing it first. In Plymouth there’s a shop that specializes in games—you just rent the “time” to play them.

Princess Ben is not your average Princess. She isn't interested in learning how to behave like a queen and her less than skinny figure isn't putting her their either much to her Aunt's dismay. What do you do when your mother has been killed, your father is missing and you've become next in line for the throne. Misbehave of course. It's because of this attitude that she discovers a whole other side to the castle and to what she's capable of!
I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. This is actually the first princess book I've read. I only wish there had been more of the magical side of things in the story but I still loved it.

Splendor is one of my go-to games for introducing new people to the hobby as it revolves around 2 simple actions. Get gems, and buy cards with gems. Easy to teach and people feel good when they manage to link several actions in a row efficiently or when they learn that picking up all of the gems of a colour is a annoying yet hilariously effective strategy at times. It has enough depth to last a while and for someone experienced to consistently beatsomeone who is learning, but eventually you'll want something a bit more complex. In terms of theme, there really isn't any, just gems and Nobles for some reason.

WOW... Just... WOW. This series keeps up the interest. Throws it at you in spades. :D

So This is Maddy and Ricker's story. I don't like to give anything away so this is gonna be a tough review. Hmmm. Maddy is not as strong as a lot of other females in her clan... but with the Prima's help, she's learning. I'll just say Ricker helps her out of a tight spot and leave it at that... And then they fall. Personalities clash and duel. As does their bodies. :D

Go read. Seriously. This one might just be my new favourite.
Oh - Well written, well thought out story line. Awesome Characters.
LOVED IT!!

You learn what life is like in 1940's and segregation's and things that were going on back then.

1956 | Dice Game
The game of perfectly combining luck and strategy
The ability to read the dice and hold/roll again is something that develops after a few games. You roll the 5 dice and are looking to make poker-hand combinations (total of 3s, 3 of a kind, straight, etc) in order to fill the scoreboard - if you pick the wrong space in the scoreboard too soon you can end up scoring nothing for an excellent throw.
Learning what to hold and what to spin and keeping your options open is a must - you can't go all out for 5 of a kind (Yahtzee!) on 6s if you have already scored for 6s etc.

Matchmaking is terrible (1 more)
Learning curve can be challenging
Good Addition to The Mario Sports Collection
If you are looking for a great tennis game, this is that. The extra fun "Mario" mechanics can be turned on or off, giving you a great tennis experience. The mechanics give the game a much more balanced feel.

Unfortunately, said mechanics can be difficult to learn. There are a lot of things that aren't just tennis. They can take a long thing to learn.

The matchmaking is also terrible. It won't be surprising to face someone who has played hundreds of games in your first online match, and then get destroyed.

Eat Up!: An Infographic Exploration of Food by Paula Ayer; Antonia Banyard is colorful and has many interesting facts about food. The information is presented in a way that children can understand but the pages are a bit cluttered. Readers will have the ability to learn where food is grown, where meat comes from, how the food gets to the store. This is a book that will allow for basic learning and will cause the reader to study further.

The book has vibrant pictures and diagrams that will catch reluctant readers attention.

I received the advanced reader's copy from Annick Press Ltd. and Annick Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
