Absorbing
This is the first in a series of novels starring DI Adam Fawley and his team and what a start to the series this is. I actually missed this first time round and was only reminded I had it when I was sent book 4!

Packed with fantastic characters not all of which are particularly likeable but all of whom are well developed and with interesting stories to tell in their own right. The story line is a difficult one to read being that of child abduction and exploitation however this is not written in a gratuitous way but with care and attention although not is all as it seems and so begins DI Fawley's task of unravelling just what has happened to young Daisy.

This is a fast paced, gripping and absorbing story that had me reading it in quick time in order to discover the secrets and lies contained within the twists and turns of this excellent book and I highly recommend this to those of you who love a great police procedural.

Thank you to Penguin Books (UK) and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.

Now, before I start, let me say that R.S. McCoy is an author that I have long admired, for the twists and turns she can put on her books. So I was expecting something 'different' when I started reading The Killing Jar, but not what I got!

This book is told from multiple points of view which, although slightly confusing to begin with, quickly becomes necessary as you learn about the characters, their world, their situations and what lies ahead of them.

With an intricate and in-depth story, fascinating characters, backstories and plot twists, this was a thoroughly enjoyable Sci-Fi. This is a slow-burner of a book, don't expect to be swept away from the very beginning. However, if you stay with it, you will be pulled into this world, with it's class system and rules. By the time you are partway through, you will be completely bound to this book, needing to know what happens next.

With no editing or grammatical errors that jumped out at me, I would have no hesitation in recommending this.

Cameron Britton steals every scene...
I went in to Mindhunter with high expectations and ended up with a mixed bag of emotions by the end.

The scene's in which they interview the 'Serial Killers' are fascinating and make up the best parts of Mindhunter by far. They were intense, creepy and completely captivating. Cameron Britton's portrayal of Ed Kemper in particular, is absolutely superb and he steals every scene.

A few people have mentioned the slow pace of the show as a problem, I personally didn't mind this. For me the main problem lies with the lead character Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) who is very unlikable to say the least, he is arrogant, manipulative and very selfish. However his partnership with FBI agent Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) is another highlight, as they do have a good on screen chemistry.

Without adding any spoilers, I would say that for me the ending to season 1 is a bit of an anticlimax.

After all is said and done Mindhunter is still a good watch and I am looking forward to seeing where they take it in season 2.

Just A Flat Line......
Flatliners- is a remake that i forgot that came out in 2017. I love the oringal and think its a very underrated film that has a great cast. I like Kiefer's cameo/small role in this film, their is a delted scene where it connects to the oringal film. So thats cool. I mean Ellen Page was good in it, and i like some of the psychological espects, that how the past haunts you and the past will bite you. Other than that this film was bad, really bad, awful.

The Plot: Five medical students embark on a daring and dangerous experiment to gain insight into the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life. The bold adventure begins when they trigger near-death experiences by stopping their hearts for short periods of time. As their trials become more perilous, each must confront the sins from their past while facing the paranormal consequences of journeying to the other side.

Just skip this film, and go watch the oringal film. Cause like i said its a very underrated psycological horror jem.
