Dean (6926 KP) rated Happy Death Day (2017) in Movies

Groundhog Slasher
A light hearted tongue in cheek take on the Slasher genre. Featuring a Groundhog day angle of living and dying the same day over and over. It has its funny moments and Jessica Rothe is great in her role. Mixed with a bit of a Whodunit? twist with plenty of suspects. Don't expect a violent gorefest and you should like this quite a bit.

Horror Masterpiece
I love horror movies. This is one of my favorites for the sheer brutality, originality and excellent directing. Rob Zombie has always been a great artist in my mind whether it's his music, artwork or movies. This sequel was light-years better than the first movie, imo. Good job, Rob.

Very low budget (2 more)
Bad acting
Nothing funny for a comedy horror
Watch Friday the 13th instead
Another low budget Horror currently on Amazon prime. Also another one to miss. Starts quite light hearted and tries to recreate the 80's B movie slasher films. Although nothing particularly funny for a horror comedy. The last part of the film doesn't fit with the rest of it. Sadly another low budget offering not worth your time.

Creepy feel (1 more)
Great creature design
You'll be afraid of the dark
Simple and effective Horror, the story might seem basic but it works well. It has some good set piece scenes and an overall creepy feel to the film. The character development is good helped by a good cast. Worth checking out for old school horror fans and newcomers alike, just leave the light on!

Not watched for a long time but still remember staying up to watch it and certain episodes still stick in my mind about thirty years later. These were the start of horror movies and with things that go bump in the night catch up on the old series. Not so much horror but plenty of suspense and going to bed with the light still on even probably now.
Dean (6926 KP) rated Dracula - Dead and Loving It (1995) in Movies

A good decent spoof of Bram Stokers Dracula, and many a Hammer horror film. It has the king of spoof films in Leslie Nielsen being very silly indeed. Very light hearted by todays standards. A good fun film with some impressive sets I have to add!

Unique plot (1 more)
Surprisingly good acting
Groundhog day slasher!
Firstly this is a comedy horror not a straight up horror film.
I have to say I expected nothing from this film, I knew none of the actors and was just looking to pass an hour or so.
I'd like to say I loved this film, it was very 90's slasher poking fun at itself and not taking itself very serious at all, I found the plot unique and was honestly quite surprised by the "killer".
I think if you are looking for something light and breezy rather than a straight up horror this is perfect!

Light Horror
Thin Air is an extremely enjoyable book where the mountain is as big a character as the people on it. Why it works is it us incredibly subtle in its telling. If you want a spooky read it's well recommended.

The one. The only. The classic.
One of the original boogeyman films is still a classic. Some common horror elements used even now originated in this film and still work.
No CGI or campy effects in this film, just raw suspense. Certainly not a hugely bloody or gory horror movie, it relies on light and dark and some use of the "jump scare" before it even had a name.
I can't get the eerie theme music out of my head!
Time to rewatch!
