Monsterland
So spotted this on Netflix and wasn't too sure about it. Glad I gave it a go though. Set in the near future where bugs and reptiles have become huge Monsters and the few people alive have been living in bunkers for years. A guy decides to take a dangerous journey to meet his love in a different colony.
This is a lighthearted Monster film, with more comedy and action than Horror. Kinda of a similar theme to Zombieland. Quite heartfelt as he goes on his journey and learns have to survive this new world. The creatures look great and SFX are very well done. Very entertaining if also predictable, but you'll enjoy the adventure.

Another great book in the series. As Harry, Ron and Hermione embark on their second year at Hogwarts there are more adventures to be had and mysteries to uncover. The character development continues, particularly for Ron who shows that he is definitely brave enough to be in Gryffindor by facing his biggest fear to help his friends. We are introduced to new characters, like Ginny the youngest Weasley, whilst still getting to know the other background characters who help make the story so special. JK Rowling artfully continues to tackle prejudice as witches and wizards with muggle parents are targeted by the mysterious Chamber of Secrets whilst also enduring name calling and bullying. Despite this the book is still lighthearted and utterly hilarious in places. 100% recommend it!!

The Legend
Robin Hood- rewatching this movie, i loved it. I love the charcters, the plot, the music, everything about it i love it. The action, the comedy, the adventure, the suspense, the thrills, so excellent, so great.
The Plot: An amiable rooster called Alan-a-Dale (Roger Miller) tells stories and sings songs of the heroic Robin Hood (Brian Bedford) and his trusty sidekick, Little John (Phil Harris), in this animated animal-themed adaptation of the legendary story. When evil Prince John (Peter Ustinov) deputizes the Sheriff of Nottingham (Pat Buttram) to collect unreasonable taxes from the animals of Sherwood Forest, Robin, Little John and the other merry men wage a lighthearted battle against their evil foes.
Such a classic, if you havent watch it, then go and watch it.

One of the best Marvel films
This is definitely the best Thor film by far, and up there as being one of the best Marvel films in general.
It's so much fun, and the humour in it is brilliant. It's very funny, and Korg has to be my new favourite character. The action scenes were marvellous and the sfx too. The whole 80s neon theme works really well, especially with the awesome soundtrack. The plot was interesting and serious, but with the humour in it felt a lot more lighthearted than other recent Marvel films. This seemed much more along the same lines as the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
I loved some of the new characters like Valkyrie and the Grandmaster, although my only negative is that I felt Karl Urban and Idris Elba were a little underused. Need more Heimdall!

I really enjoyed this movie. I saw it in theaters when it first came out and enjoyed it then and I've found myself watching it every once in a while just to revisit it. I really love the cast, I love the plot, I love the lightheartedness of it all. I don't think it's such a bad thing that it's not a movie that particularly pushes your brain to think too much. I like that it's a comedy and even more that they read Fifty Shades of Grey. I think the jokes are 10 times funnier if you've read those books because they make so much more sense.
It's a fun, lighthearted film that I'm sure will make you laugh - either because you think it's funny or because you think it's bad. Either way, a laugh is a laugh, right?

Going Nowhere by Lena North
Going Nowhere is a fun-filled frolic with angels, shifters, witches, and glitter-farting unicorns. If you are after a heavy, angst-laden book, then I'm sorry, but you've found the wrong one!
This is an action-packed book that has romantic elements to it, but it doesn't overrule the whole story. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, in fact, far too many to count. I loved this book from start to finish. With its crazy family, and heart-warming characters, plus there is always which one Hibiscus will go for?!
A brilliant story that I hope will be the start of a new series. Excellently written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow. I thoroughly enjoyed every word, and really can't recommend this lighthearted novel highly enough.
