The story of a Muslim family living in London, persecuted by the ghost of their jihadi father. Narrated by five protagonists, who express five different views on today's attitudes of being Muslim in a western country: (non) respect towards religions, the traditional vs modern, what it means to be a Muslim in today's world, and in particular, it's the story of stigmatisation. An interesting, topical story that shows our diverse world, and how we MUST look at what is causing radicalisation.

Tom Hardy unsurprisingly excels in the powerful lead role of a violent low-lifer
Genuinely fascinating insight into the broad history of the time
Strong performances all-round
An almost monochrome visual that transforms you to a dark place you're glad you can leave at the end of each episode!
A bit of a slow burner - you don't mind leaving the room for a few minutes knowing you probably wont miss that much (1 more)
A few (undeliberate?) loose ends, but maybe saved for Season 2?

[The War That Saved My Life] by [Kimberly Brubaker Bradley] is a well told story of a young girl in London who has a mother that is ashamed of her. She uses World War II as a way to escape her mother with her young brother to the countryside when children are evacuated from the city. They are placed with a single woman who is suffering from demons of her own.
This coming of age story shows how we all fight wars within ourselves each day and sometimes it takes allowing others to help you to win those wars.

Gaiman wrote this book because he felt adults deserved a story similar to how Alice in Wonderland was written for kids. I love this explanation!

Amanda Harvey Purse what can I say amazing I loved this book and I'm not just saying that.Â
 The story line jumps between the years 1888 and 1889 the place London your hosts for this intriguing murder mystery are Mary Kelly the fifth Jack the Ripper victim and Thomas Dunn a writer and I'm not telling you any more because you really should read this book. There is so much I could tell but won't all you need to know is that Amanda has mixed alot facts relating to the Jack the Ripper case amongst fiction to create a great story.

Maggie Hope gets a job as the new pool secretary to new Prime Minister Churchill in 1940 London. But as bombs begin to fall on the city, she is about to find herself caught up in a plot she never would have imagined. Again, this one was slow at times, although when the plot really got going, it was hard to put down. But the characters were so wonderful I enjoyed it even in the slow parts.

A gritty hard thriller about a cop killer in London. It has a great well known UK cast, more TV than film though. The only real problem is the story they have to work with, it's a bit weak at best. As a result there is very little suspense in the plot, it also has a fairly low budget feel to it. It's ok for those who like a quick fix of action/thriller with a simple basic story. Others might like a bit more substance in the plot, which could have made it a lot better.

'Gotham by Gaslight' or (basically) steam-punk Batman.
Victorian-set stories, that re-imagines the Bat in Victorian times, with the first (of the 2) in this seeing Bruce Wayne framed for killings carried out by Jack the Ripper. Yes, that Jack the Ripper, who has appeared in Gotham city following his killing spree in London.
The second - not as good - story sees Bruce Wayne struggling to decide whether to take up the mantle of the Bat again when Gotham City's World fair is attacked, by the 'Master of the Future'.
I'd recommend the first; the second is so-so.

The fifth <i>Amelia Peabody</i> novel which, in a change of setting, actually takes place in and around London rather than Egypt (even though it still deals with Egyptology).
There's also a 2001 film called 'The Mummy Returns': having now read this, I can see more than a few parallels between that movie and this! British museum? Check. Historical(ish) setting? Check. Husband and wife team? Check. Precocious son? Check. Attempted Egyptian ritual/curse? Check (yet again).
OK, so the novel doesn't have the undead wandering around, nor a hot-air balloon, but still enough ...

Average action film
Decided to give this a go although surprised at there being another MIB film. It's a fairly fun action film, not a serious film by any means. The scenes in London were quite good but overall the story is rather weak. It's not as funny as the original films and misses the chemistry of those films. On the other hand it's mildly entertaining for a light hearted action film. If you were a big fan of the original films you'll be disappointed though.
