"When I was making 19, my manager suggested I cover a Bob Dylan song, Make You Feel My Love. I didn’t really know much about Dylan at the time, but I suddenly got interested, got into his back history – and that’s how I found Karen Dalton. She used to open for Dylan back in the day in Greenwich Village. There’s not a lot of her music out there, she died quite young. But her voice! Something haunting there, even eerie. The tone is amazing – it reminded me a lot of Amy Winehouse. They both have almost a slur in their voice, which is so charismatic."

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
1975 | Comedy, Drama

"The films that I like aren’t necessarily because they’re good films in themselves — One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is a good film — but that one specifically meant a lot to me. Not because I was in a mental home or anything, but that character influenced me so much when I was 15 or 16, and bits of it stuck with me. A lot of that kind of “putting your middle finger up to the world” attitude — not that I really have that, but…I used to be so timid, and that was one of those films that [helped me break out], by pretending to be [Jack Nicholson’s character] Randle."

It has a lot or characters and a lot of game play (0 more)
I've nearly been playing this game for a year now, and I have to say, it is my favourite game I've ever had on my phone. There are so many different characters to play as, and there are so many game play options from surge to invasion, to guild war. I love the idea of collecting and powering up my favourite Disney characters. There are ways to work alone against computers as well as other people's teams. There are also ways to battle along side your guild, working together. The game is great!

Very good. Not great though.
A host of new characters, some reunions with old characters, some lovely Easter Eggs. But a rather tired plot, and a 20minute lull two thirds of the way through.
The animation once again is absolutely phenomenal, Pixar just keep pushing the boundaries and improving on what is achievable with animation.
There was some humour throughout, but a lot less than usual with Toy Story, and to be honest a lot less charm than we're used to.
And those freaky bloody dummies. They creep me right out.
A good family film, but did not quite meet my (admittedly high) expectations.

I hadn't heard about the backlash but have just looked into it. What utter nonsense, as usual, the humans are largely irrelevant to the film, and the rest of the cast of the film are ... toys. I'm all for diversity but picking on Toy Story 4 for this is crazy. I do agree the point and forky - he should be trying to be recycled (which technically he already has been) not get to the trash (I hope that isn't a spoiler).

Toy story 4 was epic. I love the Toy Story franchise. They are great family movies. My kids are older kids and they still enjoyed it. I thought the ending was a little sad, but I wont spoil it incase you haven't seen it. Its definitely worth a watch.

Wonderfully daft
After watching the tv series, I knew what to expect from the book and plot wise, there is very little difference between the two. But as always, the book is a lot better than the series.

I’m a big fan of Terry Pratchett, and this is a wonderful story showcasing his storytelling talents. It’s fun, entertaining, and full of British humour which comes across a lot better in the book than it does in the show. It’s a great story with some brilliant characters, although I do think it’s a rather unthreatening irreverent take on the end of the world, but i suppose that’s Pratchett all over.

"To Bring You My Love is my favorite PJ Harvey record, I was definitely obsessed with her at that point. She was doing something with the blues that not a lot of artists that I was interested in were doing, sort of making it contemporary. That record had a very natural sound, but it also had a real style to it. It was produced. I still reference To Bring You My Love when we make records. I had really come around to Wire and Talking Heads around this time too, and I started to like that kind of abstract lyrical imagery more than literal story telling. It made it easier to write lyrics, because it was easier to hide behind. At that point, when I was writing lyrics it was all about: What can I sing that won’t embarrass me standing up there onstage? And if you could latch onto something that had a cool meaning to it, that was a bonus. But it wasn’t the primary concern. Sometimes that can lead to a lot of really bad lyrics. And a lot of it is about taste: I didn’t know a lot about what Stephen Malkmus was singing about, but it fucking worked. This is when Spoon’s first album, Telephono, came out, on Matador. In the early ’90s I started noticing that a lot of the records I liked had this Matador logo on the back: Guided by Voices, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Liz Phair. They were the coolest label. To be able to be in the same company as those people was unreal. So, for a brief time, it was amazing—and then the record came out and nobody cared."

I'm Hurting by Thee Headcoats

(0 Ratings)

Track

"Thee Headcoats had a really big and important part in mine and Laurie’s sound when we first started. We really loved that rough, dirty, garagey sound and the singer Billy Childish was a massive inspiration to us, he’s a Kent boy as well. “When me and Laurie were starting the band my Dad sat us down and played us a load of records, I remember him getting a stack of records out and this was one of them. This song really shaped our sound early on, we were a two-piece and we’d found this weird set-up, kind of by mistake, where I was going to stand up and drum and Laurie was going to play guitar. My Dad went through his records and picked out two-piece bands and garage punk bands. Quite a lot of it was this sort of stuff, Billy Childish has had quite a few other bands and there was a band called The Husbands as well, there was a lot of them. “It was everything about “I’m Hurting”, the whole sound of it and the vocals. I love that his voice is so British but it’s not a London voice, it’s got a real Kent twang to it and we wanted to sound like that a bit. I really like it when people sing in their own accent, a lot of the time these days’ people are singing in American accents, so it’s really refreshing to hear someone shouting in a Kent, geezer voice. “’I’m Hurting’ was one of the ones that clicked and we just thought ‘this is amazing.’ That was six years ago and I’m very fortunate my old man was obsessively into music his whole life and I had a lot of that put into me. Without him I wouldn’t know a lot of this music that I know about now."

The original series was not my idea of the best of shows. The stories were okay they just didn't have a lot of substance in my opinion. I also believe the acting wasn't great but I did love George takei in the show as well as Walter koenig

There are a lot of characters in this story, and not all of them are likable. The author has sent a plague of moths unto the people, who are already plagued by their narrow minds and greed.
