Charlotte Ozanne (108 KP) rated Arkham Horror: The Card Game in Tabletop Games
Nov 16, 2019
Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a very good game... for people who consider themselves avid board gamers. There is a lot to learn, such as the flow of the gameplay, what each type of card does, keeping tally of your skills, etc. If you are willing to knuckle down and stumble through your first attempt at the game, then the story is quite good and is worth the hassle. Otherwise, there is a lot to learn and get your head around. My partner and I really enjoyed playing this game and are looking forward to buying the expansions.

This small film does a great job of quickly setting up the suspense as a plane gets hijacked and the crew try to fight them off. Just about the entire film is shot in the cockpit and the result is an addition of claustrophobia to the precedings. The movie doesn't really have a lot of action, but it maintains it's tense atmosphere throughout, and Lovitt does a great job carrying the film. The story isnt anything to write home about, but it does it's job and holds the movie together.

It was ok but important to read for other books
I'm a big fan of Dale's books but this one is just very slow with a disappointing amount of action that it builds up to. I like how he's thought about the reunification of Korea and it would be nice if that's how it happened (minus the nukes) but there's little action compared to a lot of his books.
However, it introduces a lot of themes and characters that become very important in later books so I definitely recommend reading it if you're going to read more Patrick McLanahan books!

Cait (5 KP) rated Disney Heroes: Battle Mode in Apps

I've nearly been playing this game for a year now, and I have to say, it is my favourite game I've ever had on my phone. There are so many different characters to play as, and there are so many game play options from surge to invasion, to guild war. I love the idea of collecting and powering up my favourite Disney characters. There are ways to work alone against computers as well as other people's teams. There are also ways to battle along side your guild, working together. The game is great!
