So the first half of this book was a little slow for me, but one I got towards the ending, wow! The tears just couldn't stop. Such a touching story and an interesting way of writing it and getting it out there. This book hit a lot of tender topics but all in all an amazing book.

Great Sfx
An interesting Sci-fi film
A very well made film with some great actors. It's interesting but the way the story pans out spoiled it for me and made it quite predictable. Seemed a lot like @2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) for my liking as well.

Emma Tucker (52 KP) rated Wicked in Books

It wasn't quite what i was expecting, being a massive fan of the musical. It's definitely not as light and fun as the musical - it's a lot darker and deeper. However I did enjoy it as a standalone novel. The twists from the original story are so clever and its much more emotional and also quite political.

Turn rejection from a bad thing to a not-bad thing
It reminded me a lot of Gretchen Rubin's "The Happiness Project" in that it integrated his story with research he came across during his journey. While it was enjoyable, that aspect of it was unexpected and, at times, kind of boring. Overall though, highly recommended.

This review is probably going to ruin any reputation I may have! I actually thought this was better than the original ?. I felt there was a lot more action than the first. Patric is not as engaging as Reeves was in Speed but still does an ok job. Dafoe is great as the loose cannon. Sorry everyone!

Erika (17789 KP) rated House of Names in Books

I've read a lot of novels based on classical mythology, and they're normally either really good, or really poor. This was definitely one of the better ones. Of course, I'm familiar with the story, however I'm more familiar with The Oresteian Trilogy by Aeschylus. I liked how the characters were fleshed out, and the story was completely engaging.

If you like magic then watch this film, although a lot of a the stunts were probably staged slowly and then edited together, the tricks were still impressive. The twist at the end - you do not see coming although if you watch it again (which I have done) it does rather spoil it but still a good film.
