Iranians share a lot of cultural references with people from Armenia, and seeing this, I almost saw a path through Iranian culture. The movie juxtaposes surreal elements from my culture without going through a Western gaze. It has some of the most amazing imagery I’ve ever seen."

I finally got to see Baywatch last night, after having to miss the ticket I pre-booked. I wasn't expecting anything particularly good, it's Baywatch after all. But it was really entertaining, just enough slow motion running, with a lot of taking the piss out of itself. Something for everyone, scantily clad women, and bulging men. It was well worth watching.

Rolling Stone's 214th greatest album of all time

Good collection of songs, but not really much of what we think of for Tina Turner. Proud Mary is superb, but I am sure the best known version doesn't include Ike.
Early songs are very soulful, with Tina's voice suppressed quite a lot, more like a soul version of the Carpenters than I had expected.
