Curse of the Sequel Strikes Again!!
So the 1st Lego Movie was a big and very enjoyable surprise to me. I went into it not knowing what to expect and came out with a big grin on my face. So going into the 2nd Lego movie I had high expectations that it just didn't live up to.
There was still some spark but it lacked the same level of fast gagtastic pace. A lot of the gags felt a bit flat and the increase in real-world action didn't enhance the film. I know it's a Lego movie but the story just was all over the place and didn't tie anything together. For what seemed to be a simple story of sibling rivalry there was a lot of new characters; in particular Rex; that I didn't feel hit the right spot.
I was left underwhelmed.

Mothergamer (1536 KP) rated Tokyo Xanadu EX+ in Video Games
Sep 28, 2020
Tokyo Xanadu Ex+ is an enhanced version of the original with an extra story chapter, two new characters, and additional mini games. The dungeon exploration feels similar to games like Persona and The Legends Of Heroes, but it's a lot of fun. You have one active character, but you can switch between party members quickly and this is actually part of the strategy for some of the boss battles. The combat is fun and easy to get into. The main story itself is pretty good and there are side quests that have stories that fit alongside the main story. There are also fun mini games to play like a skateboarding course. The game itself is really charming, fun to play, and it has a lot of interesting characters. ClareR (5674 KP) rated Local Gone Missing in Books
Aug 24, 2022
Local Gone Missing is an engaging police procedural with a bit of a difference. The main character, Detective Elise King, is on sick leave, recovering from breast cancer treatment. But when one of the villagers in her village goes missing, she finds herself back at work in a more informal way.
I liked this a lot. For such a small village there’s a lot going on: drugs, tensions between new and old villagers, fires - and a disappearing neighbour. Honestly, it made me vow to never move to a village!
The main characters are great. Dee, who knows everyone’s secrets and flies under everyone’s radar; Ronnie, the typical nosey neighbour who wants to be Elise’s sidekick; and Elise, who is worried about going back to the job she clearly loves.
I didn’t guess who did it, as is usual.
Many thanks to The Pigeonhole for serialising this and expanding my reading horizons!

Worth the struggle
A classic of course. From an academic perspective, it is interesting to read this and look at the flaws caused by the limited knowledge at the time of writing. Without knowledge of DNA or genetics in general, there is a lot of guesswork here. But still this is a great book, and a great starting point for someone wanting to learn more about the world of evolution.

Oh...Okay
I enjoyed her writing style a lot. I enjoyed the way things were explained and drawn out, and I really enjoyed the premise. What I didn't like, and what ruined the reading experience for me, was how much I hated the main character. She kept whining. It was frustrating to me. I ended up not finishing the series.
