A great family friendly film
An old favourite for many and one film that will probably grow on you. An interesting idea of an ancient board game that comes to life. Robin Williams is great as the man freed from the board game and trying to finish it before something terrible happens. There is a remake later this year, it has a lot to live up to.

Good ... but the book is better
I read the book first so the movie had a lot to live up to in my opinion and just couldn't quite do it. It is nice to have a Christian based movie in the theaters. But a movie just about God's grace and the trinity is a huge undertaking. That being said, it was well done and I'd watch it again.

Great film
This is Ridley Scott's best film in years. Considering it's about one man stranded on Mars, it's surprisingly interesting, full of humour and intrigue. Matt Damon puts in a great performance holding a lot of the film on his own, although the supporting cast are fantastic too. It has a really good soundtrack and is also very close to the original book by Andy Weir. One of the best films of 2015.

Elantris is probably the best place to start for those of us new to the Cosmere. The story develops at a good pace from a position of a lot of unknowns, but the reveals come at a good pace and are explained without being rammed home.
This is fairly typical Sanderson storytelling/world-building but for me the magic system was not quite as well developed/tangible as those in other worlds of the Cosmere.

No Such Thing As Too Much
Described as "the sound of four men chopping down the Joshua Tree," Achtung Baby combined cutting edge (excuse the pun) production with the personal and genuine performance that U2 are known for.
With five hit singles, some of the remaining songs only seem weak in comparison. On their own, album tracks like Acrobat and Love Is Blindness outshine a lot of songs that followed them.

There is a lot of sick and twisted-ness in here which I always love, but it's the story and the great set of characters in this book that really got me into this! There are also added bonuses for Stephen King fans with many subtle references to different books, showing that this story also takes place in his father's universe. PS. Be sure to read "a note on the type" at the end :-)

Horrifyingly good
This is another great film from Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg (also director of Patriots Day). It's tense and truly horrifying to see what these people went through. For myself although I know of the incident, I didn't know a lot of the detail or back story so it was good to see this covered. There are some great effects, and some great acting from a very well known cast.

There is a lot to say about this book, but I don't like giving spoilers. I will say that it is in my top ten favorite books of all time.
It gives you a disturbing sense of being both a child and an adult at the same time, equally amazed and horrified by events taking place. It makes you miss a place you've never been, while being worried you might have to go one day.

spidey is back and has some new tech its a fun rollercoaster ride but it seemed like it was aimed at a younger audience and the tech he has seemed more like ironman on the whole its a fun film and has some real class actors which help but i was really expecting a lot more from this film
