I quite enjoyed this book - it was quite exciting and it turned into quite a tangled web of awesomeness! There was a lot of drug use in the book - not that drug use is a huge deal, but sometimes I was like, wow. There was some darker parts of the book - some parts that were unexpected and I liked that.
I did not expect it to turn out the way that it did!

Aasiyah Sidat (34 KP) rated The Life of Pi in Books

Now I know that Life of Pi was a major motion picture and got a lot of awards for acting. I didn't watch the full movie at the time, just a couple of clips when I was flying. At the time, it did not seem in the slight bit interesting and it definitely was not my cup of tea.

I like the storyline from this film the downside of it is that they cut out ethan's aunts that were mention alot in the book and also the cat they had but went feral also some the characters charactisics were changed from book to film I think if these changes were not made then a lot fans alike would have enjoyed it more than they did

Dark Comedy
I found this movie to be absolutely hilarious. It is dark humor, and not the type of humor for everyone. However, a group of kids in the wilderness trying to save their friend along the way with crazy and unexpected twists and turns proves to be a hilarious match. This movie does contain a lot of sexual comedy, so if that's not your thing, you will probably hate this movie.

Erika (17789 KP) rated White Boy Rick (2018) in Movies
Sep 18, 2018 (Updated Sep 18, 2018)
Overall, and interesting and entertaining film based on the true story of the youngest hustler/drug dealer/FBI Informant. Sadly, the trailers were better than the film. There were a lot of other random actor that didn't actually do much for the story, i.e. Jennifer Jason Leigh. Matthew McConaughey's part was smaller than advertised, I imagine he was used to sell the film, heck, it got me in the seat.

AT (1676 KP) rated Tokyo Ghoul: Volume 3 in Books
Sep 19, 2018
Book 3 in the Tokyo Ghoul series has a lot of action, drama, and information packed into it. Kaneki continues to work at the cafe with Touka, and she also begins to train him in martial arts. Hinata's life sees some major changes, and she's forced to deal with much unpleasantness at a young age, since the ghoul investigators are after her when they recognize her that her family is made up of ghouls.

Met the hype
Loved this book, it had a lot of hype around it and I had been worried about it living up to it. I read it without knowing what the book covered and was very touched. The book hits you emotionally and you find yourself hoping she rights the wrongs that have happened to her the best she can and hoping the people pay for the awful things they have done.

Dean (6927 KP) rated The Invention of Lying (2009) in Movies
Nov 7, 2018
Oh dear this looked ok from the trailer. Thought it would be a mix of Liar, Liar with Bruce Almighty. Unfortunately it was no where near as funny as those two. In fact for a comedy apart from the main plot running through the film, it tries to be a bit too serious for a comedy. As a result not that much to laugh at here. I expected a lot better and was let down.

Cori June (3033 KP) rated Tiger's Destiny in Books

Much lower review than the other books because for Kelsey to like Shakespeare so much, she finds herself in that type of situation too often. Plus even though she "chose" and by not wanting to hurt people's feelings she is just hurting a lot of people. So, while I like the book it is like "being stuck in a bad soap opera". All it does is make her looks selfish.
