Sarah (7800 KP) rated Ex Machina (2015) in Movies

This is one of those smaller films that can quite easily pass a lot of people by. For me, I knew little about it and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. There are some strong performances from a very small cast, Oscar Isaac's dancing can't fail to make me laugh. The visual effects are fantastic, although my only issue is that the ending wasn't entirely unpredictable. However it's still a very good, tense, interesting film.

Quiet, subdued at times, with an explosive ending
This crime series is extremely slow, at times there is no dialogue whatsoever and the viewer is left watching the wondrous landscape of New Zealand. While the quietness is mesmerising at times, it does feel like it takes too long for anything to happen. The ending happens quickly with a lot of unresolved issues. Interesting but not amazing.

One of the weaker Bond films
A very good action film continuing right on from Casino Royale. Plenty of action, chases and explosions. Has a certain Bourne Trilogy feel to a lot of the stunts and fights. The Bond films now are more gritty, raw without the tongue in cheek humour of the past films. One for all out action entertainment but not the best story for a Bond film.

Amazing game
This is such an amazing game. With a fantastic story and great characters it really keeps you interested. The gameplay is great and it definitely keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next. The graphics are beautiful and just exploring the different areas is a lot of fun. Overall, worth playing.

Not Bad
I quite enjoy this show; although quite a lot of episodes are alike. I enjoy the idea of getting to know the Offgriders of Alaska and the hard work that is put into working there. I also enjoy watching the workers and how much they enjoy their job.

This game is alright. I know there are a lot of people who love these games, I'm just a terrible liar and not great at the strategies this game requires. If I am on the resistance side, I am always found out. This makes the game less fun for me and my teammates. I would much rather watch the game be played as it has very interesting dynamics and it is fun to see how everyone's mind works.

Best horror???
My wife and I managed to get along to see this and both of us were disappointed. We were expecting loads of jump scares and frights but neither of us received any, the premise was good but the fact the story didn't fill in any blanks as to how the creatures came to be or why left you completely in the dark. While some may enjoy, I wasn't one of them.

This was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be and a very interesting concept about women and men and the dynamic between the two. I can tell you one thing, the world would definitely be better off having more women in power who speak their mind and tell it like it is. And pretty much all women would be sentenced to this planet for non compliance. I'm looking forward to reading the next one!

Best Investment
I love my Kindle Fire and use it more than my laptop. I am an avid reader but don't have a large space to store paperback and hardback books. The Kindle app allows me to download and purchase books, categorize them, organize them, and have several started books at once all in one place. Ebooks are cheaper than paperbacks which allows me to feed my addiction without having to spend a lot of money.

Awesome
Never been a fan of Aquaman, he lives in the water... What can he do? Turns out, quite a lot. After seeing him in Justice League, I have been looking forward to seeing the Aquaman movie. I wasn't disappointed. It's Jason Mamoa and he owns the character. Nicole Kidman as his mum..... Plenty of action and a excellent storyline. The music and special effects are very reminiscent of TRON. I really enjoyed it.
