Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1) in Books
Jun 6, 2018
Wow, wow, wow! A friend of mine recommended this book to me, and I'm so glad I read it. It started out a bit slow for the first couple of chaters but then I found that I couldn't put it down!!
The book kept me guessing as there were a lot of plot twists. I also loved all the characters =)
And it's a zombie book, so what else could you want!?!
Definitely give this one a read!!

Akward (448 KP) rated Dominion: Prosperity in Tabletop Games

Platinum and Plantations are excellent additions (2 more)
Action cards are simple
Slightly extends the length of the game.
The Best Dominion Expansion
Prosperity is by far the best of the Dominion expansions, and once you have it, you will not play without it again. The addition of platinum and plantations extends the game just enough to make investing in actions worth it.
A lot of the new expansions focus on adding too much complexity. Prosperity keeps things simple.

Subpar writing (2 more)
First person point of view
Angsty/whiny characters
Seemed like a good premise
I really wanted to like this book. It sounded like it would be good, the story sounds very interesting. However, I just couldn't look past how annoyingly it was written. I read a lot of YA novels because I am a middle school teacher, but this was definitely one of the worst. I couldn't get more than halfway through.
Amanda (30 KP) rated Successful Coaching in Books
Jun 21, 2018
This was a very helpful textbook that I used for a coaching class to get a certification in coaching from the American Sport Education Program. A lot of the information was common sense, but there was some information that I found to be interesting. I enjoyed being able to discuss this with the class. I strongly recommend this if you are clueless about coaching a sport, otherwise I'm not sure how much you would really benefit from it.

Great story about two brothers who compete in a ufc style fight circuit. Each brother has their own reasons for doing so and end up facing off against each other. It's a very moving story that unfolds well and leaves you cheering for the two. There's a lot of emotion in this one. This was the first movie I ever watched with Tom Hardy in it. Made me a fan. This action drama is really worth a watch!

Beware tyrell replicants
I went to the blade runner secret cinema yesterday I have e to say seeing the film on big screen with actors playing out the parts is impress as is getting to walk around trying to find replicants. I admit though I had seen blade runner about 20 years ago unlike a lot of 80 films I didn't still in my head but now I fully in love with the world and dimensions to it
Lisa Padley (1090 KP) rated Catan in Tabletop Games

Easy to play (1 more)
Different every time
This is one of my all time favourite games and something we play a lot of as a family. I love introducing this game to new people and have yet to find a friend who hasn’t enjoyed it. There are so many expansion packs available so once you’ve mastered the basics, there are so many variations to try.
Alice (12 KP) rated Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour, #1) in Books
Jul 3, 2018
I don't quite know what to think about this book. Sinners reminded me an awful lot of Avenged Sevenfold at times throughout but in terms of plot there wasn't really much if one.
It was predominantly sex - in many different forms - with a bit of difference thrown in every now and again. The whole book was basically sex, even Myrna was a professor of human sexuality.
I'd have given it more stars if it was more of a story.

Sue (5 KP) rated A Murder in Mount Moriah (A Lindsay Harding Mystery, #1) in Books
Aug 13, 2018
I was a little hesitant about this book as at first I thought it might be a another overly christian based mystery with a lot of bible references (since the main character is a reverend). Well that is not the case with this mystery. Lindsay is a not your average reverend! This is a true cozy mystery for any fan of the genre and will have you liking Lindsay from the moment the character jumps on the page.
Sara Cox (1845 KP) rated Seven Viking Romances in Books
Aug 13, 2018
This is very easy to read, unlike a lot of translated classics. I highly recommend it. It is interesting as to what is classified as a romance, as the first story of the the seven wouldn't be deemed to the modern standards of romantic. However, after getting to know the definition of romance in this context, this is very different to the way we look at romance - in terms of love and gestures, the book becomes increasingly interesting.
