Didn't see it coming, expect lots of twists
Listened on Audible.co.uk.

While it took a while for any major developments to unfold as it went into a lot of details with smaller clues, and the original crime itself felt slightly underwhelming - the last 15 chapters were an absolute whirlwind of suspense and unnerving moments.

Chapter 45 is absolutely gut-wrenching so watch this space.

The ending totally throws you off your initial suspicions from the first 40 chapters. So stick right to the end!

[Reaper's Run] is the first book in the [Plague Wars Series] by [David VanDyke]. It is a great start and a fast past thrill ride. When Jill Repeth realizes her legs, that she lost in the war, are regrowing, she knows something is going on. It is much deeper than she realizes and her new fight is just beginning.

This is a fast paced, action book with apocalyptic and tech twists very akin to [Plague War] by [Jeff Carlson] but with a lot more action.

A fun romp, but not Jeunet's best
This is really good, my expectations for the director are somewhat unfairly high. It is a story about revenge and poetic justice, yet manages to be fun. A little magical, and a lot whimsical. Really good for people who are not put off by zany and stylized things. (Same category, but different flavor to Wes Anderson, say)

Fascinating and tragic - a journey into the human brain
Oliver Sacks, the late eminent British neurologist, is wonderfully curious and compassionate while journeying into people's experiences of the human brain. It is both humorous in some aspects but mostly tragic and terrifying to see how fragile human beings truly are. It is explained in the simplest of terms, though there is still a lot of scientific jargon. And some particular cases such as the disembodied woman and the man with nightmares is rather frightening. Fantastic read.

Fun Game
I really liked this. It's fun to explore and catch Pokemon. The story is simple, but good. The gameplay is great and there are a lot of fun side quests and mini games. You can even buy different outfits for your character which is pretty cool. You can train your Pokemon and there's even an island for wild Pokemon you catch. Overall, a fun game to play.

solo players beware
Killing Floor 2 is a lot of mindless fun.I say mindless, but it really does take some strategy to be successful. That’s what makes it the most fun.If you’re thinking of going into this game solo,it’s going to be an uphill battle that will quickly get old

Bad Moms (2016)

Usual chaotic comedy
As with a lot of these American comedies, it's brash, over the top and totally in your face, with a dollop of moral ethics. A mother, stretched to the limits, decides to let go of being perfect and do what she would rather do. She is judged as a result by other mothers, insecure with their own issues of attempting to reach perfection. It's a little silly, and I switched off engaging after a while.

The usual Hollywood C-rate comedy.

Busy but interesting
This story has a lot going on. In fact, it was slightly difficult for me to follow at times... granted that may be because I watch it at the end of the day when I'm already mentally exhausted. Overall, I enjoy the show, though I'm not a huge fan of the female lead. She's occasionally difficult to understand and slightly annoying. I do really enjoy the Edgar Allen Poe AI.

I haven't read the books but they're on my TBR list.

This is a review of the entire series. I know it has a lot of back and forth ratings but I thoroughly enjoyed this. If you like Inuyasha, Fushigi Yuugi, or any other series where the heroine has something special about them and are surrounded by abnormal characters who support and care for her, as well as a romantic interest, I think you'll enjoy this. I read the entire series in 3 days and had a hard time putting it down. Give it a chance.

Lumos (380 KP) created a post in What did you play?

Apr 23, 2018
This weekend I got together with coworkers and played Telestrations and Joking Hazard. We were laughing the entire night. There was much alcohol consumed and, for that reason, the games both skewed in the realm of inappropriate. So, while I did take some pictures, they are a lot on the NSFW side so I can't post them here.

Telestrations definitely doesn't need to go that way and could be played with family, Joking Hazard... not so much. Both are fun games though, for sure!
