Erika (17788 KP) rated Nintendo Wii in Tech
Feb 24, 2019
I've played a lot of game consoles over my lifetime, and this is definitely one of the best ones I've played. The controllers for the Wii are comfortable, and the motion sensory works well the majority of the time. This console led to more interactive gaming, and had Sony and Microsoft playing catch-up. Wii tennis, is, of course, the best game on that console (IMO).
As always with Nintendo, the game selection isn't as wide as the PS/Xbox, but that's simply how Nintendo does business.

The story might improve
This book was okay, but I think it has a lot of unmet potential. I like that each character has a different goal. In the majority of books when the characters are trapped they all focus on escaping. I really enjoyed how this book shows that escape might not be the most important thing depending on the circumstances. I'm hoping that book two buildings the drama, and adds in some character development. If that happens then this series might end up being a pleasant surprise.
Brad Leary (18 KP) rated What Do You Meme? in Tabletop Games
Mar 6, 2019
There are some very funny cards that will make you laugh.
The premise of matching phrases doesn't really work. Many of the pictures are too generic or no one has any cards that fit the image. The judge usually just goes with the funniest card disregarding the meme altogether.
And just like CAH, it becomes stale once you have gone through all the cards.

Codus (2 KP) rated Thank U, Next by Ariana Grande in Music
Mar 6, 2019
Obvious bangers like "thank u, next" and "7 Rings." (2 more)
There are plenty of remixes, and Mixes.
Very telling of style, while experimenting with new styles
A Fairly Balanced, but Far-reaching album
Being the proclaimed "Grounded-Pop-Queen", Ari brings a lot to the table for 2019; with the obvious bangers "thank u, next" and "7 Rings."There are plenty of remixes, and Mixes of several songs that will stimulate the club scenes for years to come, celebrating the young artist as the new Mariah Carey.

Goes Well With The Book
I would highly suggest seeing this movie if you enjoyed the book. It was a good adaptation, and even if you haven't read the book the movie is great. Stella and Will's relationship is a doomed romance, but you can't help cheering for them.
I see a lot of people comparing this to The Fault in Our Stars, but this is a very different story. It will probably appel to a similar audience, but you won't leave feeling as if you have seen this movie before.

Auburn (57 KP) rated Just Friends in Books
Apr 10, 2019
Just friends focuses on what happens when you have so much self doubt and feel invisible. Josh doesn't really believe in himself and knows he isn't good enough for new girl Jena. When they become friends and she relys on him his situation becomes more screwed up. A should he/shouldn't he starts. Add in an old friendship that takes a backseat and it's a lot to read.
For me the inner monologue was just a tad annoying. I felt the ending was suitable but the way it comes around just doesn't feel complete.

Erika (17788 KP) rated Lock In (Lock In #1) in Books
Apr 22, 2019
This novel takes place in the near future, where a disease called Hayden's Syndrome has infected some of the population, leaving them bed-bound with a functioning brain. The main character is Chris, who has Haden's and is a new FBI agent, using an android, nicknamed a 'threep'.
This is definitely a police-procedural novel with a future twist. I liked the mix a lot. Scalzi's characterizations are always good, and this was no exception. I devoured the book in two days and promptly moved onto the sequel.

Elizabeth (1521 KP) rated Captivated by You (Crossfire, #4) in Books
Apr 24, 2019
There was a lot of filler in this book. The story could have been told without the repetitive descriptions of how hot Gideon Cross is or how beautiful Eva is and how they are each so lucky to have the other. With this being the fourth book in the series, I think we've heard this all enough before. We get it, they are two beautiful, messed up people, envied by all around them, desired by all, and they fill the crazy, messed up holes in each others' lives.

Very surprisingly I quite enjoyed this?! Yes it's very cheesy, what did you expect? I'm sure most people have panned this just because Britney is in it? It has a TV film feel to it but it's actually a pretty decent road trip film as a group of once close young friends head to L.A. together for different reasons. I thought Britney acted a lot better than I expected and it isn't overloaded with her songs for those who aren't fans of hers. It's not a bad film by any means.
