Rolling Stone's 2nd greatest album of all time
Fantastic album, and one I have spent a lot of time listening to. Indeed, on this listen I immediately went back and listened to it again. From the sublime Wouldn't It Be Nice, to the sombre Don't Talk and the story of Sloop John B and the uplifting I Know There's an Answer (or as I prefer, the Hang on to Your Ego version). Every song is a singalong classic and I would encourage everyone to give this a few listens.

I remember liking the movie so I was curious about the TV show. The show may be slightly better than the movie. The cast is excellent and the atmosphere for the story is great. There are some dark and intense moments, but there are also some great emotional moments as well. There is a lot of terrific action throughout the show as the various factions face off against each other. For the first season, Snowpiercer really delivered all the way to the season finale and I can't wait for the next season.

"The record I listened to most in the past year was our own, Hot Thoughts, though I haven’t listened to it all the way through in a while, probably since it came out, because we’re playing it live now. I still listen to the last track, “Us,” a lot when I need to chill out. Maybe because that one feels the most not like me, like it’s someone else’s creation. We fucking love that song. I want every record to be its own world, and this one fits the bill for me."

"I'd been listening to Kiss's Alive! a lot. Great three-chord rock - Strutter and Firehouse and all of that - and then somebody turned me on to The Pistols. Kiss were a great introduction into The Pistols. I'm the last of eight kids, and really wanted something of my own. No one in my family knew who the Sex Pistols were, so they became mine. I was too young to know what some of it meant, but it really had an impact. And it led me on to my next record."

"No, no. Not like this. How do you call it? Neo-Soul. I had a chance to listen to pop music: Beyoncé, Destiny's Child. But Jill Scott - her vocals are very strong technically. I love her. I like her smile and I like how she plays with her voice. She knows what she's doing, she has control of her voice. I needed those ladies for my own projects. I'm very curious, I like to learn new stuff every day. I learnt a lot from Jill Scott, in terms of technical skills."

Legends of the Fall (1994)

"Legends of the Fall I’ve watched a million times. That’s such a beautiful story, and such a real one and a sad one, about the unexpected things life brings, like certain relationships. And sometimes, a lot of the time, life doesn’t end in happy endings. The first time I saw it, I was so young that it was just a beautiful film to me. Obviously, the role of Tristan, the role he plays, is so appealing, and that want and need to tame the wild beast, if you will."
