BobbiesDustyPages (1259 KP) rated Monopoly in Tabletop Games

Ruins families, destroys friendships and all without even finishing the game
Monopoly is one of those games that everyone owns somewhere in their closet and have played at least a few times but since it is a long freaking game most people never seem to actually finish it.
In all my life I've only ever finished 3 games of monopoly and I'm glad to say I'm undefeated.. Woop woop.
When it comes to monopoly I've always been a house rules type of person the actual rules of the game take a lot of fun out of the game.

A very good, solid film about a young white rapper, trying to cut it on the rap scene in Detroit. Seems loosely based on Eminem's background? There is a good supporting cast especially by Kim Basinger playing his mum. This will surprise a lot of people as it's not the the type of film most will expect it to be. Eminem plays the role well. Even if you're not a fan of his music or rap in general this is still a watchable film about someone trying to better themselves and break away from their humble surroundings.

Fun and entertaining co-op multiplayer game
This game is fun and gives a great challenge. You have to work cooperatively to get through the level or you will die. The challenges are not too hard and there are puzzles you have to solve to get bonuses during that round. I would highly recommend this game. Especially if you love the Left 4 Dead series.

The first at something isn't usually the best at it.
There are much better versions out there now. This was the first of it's kind, he invented the genre, and it's a great genre. But I would bet if he attempted this again he'd change a lot of things. The theme is barely there, as far as deck builders go, I much prefer Lewis and Clark which has an amazing theme and multi use cards which is amazing as well. Clank is also a much better version. My wife likes this game much better than I do.
BobbiesDustyPages (1259 KP) rated Alice (The Chronicles of Alice #1) in Books

Christina Henry really did create a truly twisted version of Wonderland in Alice and I really loved her take on the characters I've enjoyed since I was just a small child they were dark and crazy and I only wish she would have explored each character a little more.
My favorite character by far was het take in The Caterpillar I would love to read a book just in him his whole part was just so dark and twisted.
The plot while familiar had a lot of great twists though some of it got a bit repetitive at times for me.

Not a great game by modern standards
This game has flaws, but it's a very simple game that was a lot of fun in it's time. I recently found a copy at a flea market and grabbed it for the memories... That said I still haven't pulled it out to play it. I'd be interested to see if it's still the same fun I had when I was a kid. Or if it just doesn't hold up. my guess is both.
Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated Men of the Otherworld (Otherworld Stories, #1) in Books
Mar 1, 2018
I had downloaded these stories from Armstrong's web site, but never got around to reading them (I don't do much reading for pleasure on a screen). I'm sorry that I delayed doing so! Don't make the mistake of thinking of these pieces as second-rate or "throwaway" just because they were free at first. They are a delight, and do a lot to fill out Clay and Jeremy's backgrounds and motivations. The final story, which is completely new, is also marvelous. Jeremy has always been one of my favorite characters, and I really appreciate seeing him as the focal point of a story.

A very good fun slasher that has a lot of humour in it. One of the best slasher films I have seen in a while, maybe since House of Wax? It seems the guys working on this know all the right ingredients to give the fans what they want. It doesn't take itself seriously and the characters still make jokes even when being chased by the killer....which was maybe going a bit far. Still it has a cool young cast, good effects, some original kills and a wild party theme throughout. Definitely one for slasher fans!!
Dracoria Malfoy (690 KP) rated We Are Okay in Books

Better Than Okay
This book was an aesthetic in itself. A painting. Sad, simple and so, so beautiful. I loved it a lot. Its complexity was simplified, made easier to understand. You fall in love with the characters, and you can't fall out of love with them again. Marin and Mabel's relationship was so gorgeous- and very elegantly, very casually done. I think this book was beautiful, and so damn elegant. Marin's recovery isn't obvious, and it isn't a huge recovery, but it's certainly amazing. All in all, this book was great, sweet, simple, and oh-so-gorgeous.
Jcadden76 (64 KP) rated Google Maps - GPS Navigation in Apps

My preferred way to keep from getting lost.
I use Google Maps a lot. There is something nice about having all of the maps for anywhere that you are right in your hand at all times.
Recently on a trip to Seattle, as a family, we used Google maps to get down to Pike's Fish Market, find a spot for lunch, get back to the car, and then with a quick Google search we got to drive by the Hospital that they use for the outside shots of Grey's Anatomy.
Such a solid app!
