JUMPCUT ONLINE (77 KP) rated Aladdin (2019) in Movies
Jul 3, 2019
In terms of the Disney live-action remakes, Aladdin falls somewhere in the middle. Not nearly as good as The Jungle Book or Christopher Robin, but not nearly as bad as an Alice In Wonderland. An updated story is just enough to not make it a carbon copy, but they did eliminate a lot of the magic from the original in the places that counted most, the music. Its saving grace is Naomi Scott and Will Smith, who jointly bring superb charisma and carry the film to the very last scene.

Sonofdel (6291 KP) rated Del Boy: You Know It Makes Sense in Books
Jul 4, 2019
Hilarious and Entertaining
For anyone like me who loved and continues to love Only Fools and Horses then this is a must. Its basically a help manual written by Del Boy about how to succeed in Business (i know its ironic :)). It contains lots of references to things that happened in the entire series, but it also contains a lot more. It tells what hapened after Only Fools and Horses. From Damian running the business (TITCo) to Rodney having a nervous breakdown, its all included and makes for a very funny read.

Great way to get morning news (3 more)
Check weather anytime
Understands a lot, even most of the mumblings of the 4 year old.
Can work as an intercom system for large homes.
We love our google- use it for everything from checking weather, to asking stumped homework questions. Also a great tool for those random useless facts you are interesting in. It will tell jokes if you ask, and even lets you ask what Santa is doing, which the kids love doing closer to Christmas.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Adulthood (2008) in Movies
Dec 8, 2019
A good follow up to the first film Kidulthood, set 6 years later with Sam being released from prison. It's not quite as dramatic as the first, but still a good film. Nice to see the majority of the same cast, made 3 years after the first, now looking a bit older. This film centers around Sam mainly. Some might find the slang a bit too quick, hard to understand......but a lot of young boys do sound like that in London! A good film dealing with revenge and growing up and showing that violence wont get you anywhere.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Richard Jewell (2019) in Movies
Dec 20, 2019
I've watched specials on the 1996 Atlanta Bombing, and they do seem to always skew negative towards Richard Jewell. A lot of people still think he did it, which is cray because someone confessed to the crime.
Anyway, my interest in this story was what drove me to see this opening weekend. Also, Paul Walter Hauser was AMAZING in I, Tonya, so he was also the draw. Along with Hauser, Sam Rockwell was great. The entire cast worked, and they were entertaining to watch.
Of course, Eastwood threw shade at the FBI and the media, but, they were super shady so... yeah.

Mothergamer (1586 KP) rated Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in Video Games

I have a hard time playing FPS games, but I took a lot of breaks so I was able to play this game at my own pace. The story is good and I found it interesting. I feel like the game missed out however on not having a campaign. The zombie aspect was cool, but it wasn't anything groundbreaking. If you are big into COD games, you'll enjoy it. It's not a terrible game and I did enjoy playing it for what it was, but I feel there's other games out there that offer a little more.

I Just Don't Think I Get It
Don't know if it's just me, but I did not rate this program. Maybe the humour is too subtle/ dark/ deadpan, not sure, but try as I might, I just could not get into it. I did not laugh at the jokes, and found the dialogue very one dimensional (Not sure what I mean by that, just flat, I guess). I know a lot of people like it, so it must just be me, but was not into it. It's no Rick & Morty.

Gisell Middleton (189 KP) rated The Night Country (The Hazel Wood #2) in Books
Jan 31, 2020
A good story that does not quite live up to its predecessor. I enjoyed the writing style, which is very descriptive and engaging. The narrator of the audiobook does a good job with the pace and cadence, bringing the characters and story to life. There was a lot of introspection on the part of the protagonist and the murder investigation subplot, while a bit mundane later becomes important; even so, too little, too late. I wish more time had been expended on delving into some aspects of the story that would have been much more interesting. All in all, a good sequel.

Michael James William Wells (1 KP) rated Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in Books

Everyone knows the basics of this story. In my opinion it is worth reading this story your self as although is it is only a short story there is a lot insight in human nature and it's duality. Once I had finished this book it left me think more about the duality of our nature.
This book's was written in the 1880's but it is well worth the read I would not recommend it for younger read as they may not have the patience with a book of this age

Peter G. (247 KP) rated We Were Soldiers (2002) in Movies
Aug 7, 2019
As a massive fan of war movies I was expecting a lot from this one.
Unfortunately throughout the varied and bloody action I felt a disconnect that somehow pulled me away from the story and made the whole story seem bland.
Mel Gibson was as usual good but not great here and as stated the action was ok, however the only connection I felt was with the helicopter medic and the trauma he suffers making the many heroic sorties to rescue the injured.
Overall not a bad film, I just cannot recommend it based upon my viewing thoughts.
