Awix (3310 KP) rated Floor is Lava in TV

Floor is Lava
Floor is Lava
2020 | Game Show
Utterly moronic game show in which squawking trios of over-achieving gym-bunnies try to make their way across various rooms which have carelessly been allowed to part-fill with volcanic lava. Teams that do it in the fastest time with fewest casualties get some money and a lava lamp (ha! ha!).

Maybe this is the kind of entertainment we deserve in 2020, I don't know. Does make me laugh a lot, though: there is undeniable entertainment value in watching annoying people humiliate and/or injure themselves in pursuit of a cash reward. Point knocked off for not using real lava.

I love how they scream "NOOOOOOO!!!!" when a teammate falls in the lava and I find myself regularly shouting at the idiots who just stand back and wait for someone else to cover most of the room when they should be moving too. Great show

I love all "Bring It On" movies, but this one was where it all started, and still the one I have watched the most. It is very predictable and very fake, but it is a movie I watched during high school and holds a lot of nostalgia in it. Even though there is no such thing as cheerleading in Macedonia. I used to be a national karate champion istead.

If you love a bit of old high-school cheerleading drama, and want to see old classrooms, old-school romance and old-style radios with handmade tapes and rock songs, you'll enjoy this one.

"I truly recommend everyone read this, especially if you are in high school and thinking about college. There’s a lot of emphasis placed on the school you go to determining the rest of your life, and Broni pulls back the curtain on that. It’s really good to rewire your brain to think about the importance of education and realizing that if college is not the thing for you, that doesn’t mean that you’re not worthy or you’re not doing something right with your life. It came out when I was 30, so too late for me."

"Like a lot of my most recent reads, I found a copy of this in my local Underground station book swap/donation area. It's a very moving and insightful, disturbing and sometimes humorous account of Ben coming to terms with a rare illness, a massive change to his life, and the seemingly unending search for clarity about his condition, and an improvement in his health. It is gripping from the first page, and barely touches on his music career, focusing much more on family and his experiences with the NHS. I’ve not read anything else quite like it."
