I love me some raw and simple gore
I first watched this movie when I was around 10 or so and hell it messed me up in the way that I could not look away from the screen the entire time.

The thing about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that always just made it a favorite of mine is just how raw footage it is, it doesn't have any of the flash and awe that a lot of horror movies have but the acting for me to this day is just so on point that I still find myself questioning if this shit was real or not.

I honestly don't know whether or not I actually liked this movie. The score was god awful, and the 'tension' music came at weird, non-tense times. The sex was plum bizarre and the characters did a whole lot of nothing. The beginning sequence when it's around 2 minutes of a beating heart creeped me out, and made me feel slightly ill to my stomach. Barry Keoghan (AKA the guy from 71 and Dunkirk) did well, though his American accent sounded like a mix between Ryan Gosling and Benedict Cumberbatch doing American accents. Though, as whack as it was, it kind of fit with the awkwardness of the character.

I definitely liked the fact it was different. The Lobster has been on my to-watch list since it was put on Prime.

I had to look up what the Sacred Deer thing meant. Now that I know I think it's very interesting.

I loved this book. LOVED. One of my top reads in the past couple years for sure. I received it for free after winning a Goodreads giveaway. I don't want to give anything away so I will be general in my review. The concept/plot are unique but believable. The characters were really well rounded and relatable. You are immediately sucked in to their world. This was so much better than a lot of the dystopian books that are being pumped out right now. I love that it could stand alone as well as being the first installment of a trilogy. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

I was psyched when I read that Jo Nesbo was doing a take on Macbeth for Hogarth. After reading this, I feel a little ambivalent. Normally, I love everything he writes, but this one was extremely slow. I think that a lot of my neither here nor there feeling has to do with the original source material, rather than Nesbo's take on it.
The setting of the 1970s really worked, and I did really like the characterization of Macbeth. I was glad that it was relatively true to the original play to the end.
I received an ARC from Penguin's First to Read in exchange for an unbiased review.

The first half of this movie is a 10... once they hit the island AMAZING, then slowly downhill from there.
So I watched this movie one night, not expecting much but a show of primal force against modern technology and got exactly what i was looking for, but better than I expected. the foreboding on the island it palpable and delicious... The exotic species and fantastical creatures are appropriate and amazing. Really gets the imagination going. John C Reilly really rescues the ending in a lot of ways and makes it tolerable. Still a worthy watch.

It's fun.
If you go in to this movie thinking that it'll be a great movie you're going to be disappointed. What you need to do is to go into this movie thinking it's going to be solid four out of ten. It'll turn out that you actually ended up enjoying yourself. There were moments where I literally cringed.

That being said, I laughed during this movie. A lot. There were some great funny parts! Some really cool new sets and action scenes as well. I was also happy because I don't think that they made Han a flat character.

I have never laughed so hard at a simple card game. It is very similar to Cards Against Humanity, however in this game, you are playing to make the perfect punchline to a 3-frame comic strip. We played with four people and in about 2 hours, we played through all the cards available. I can see how playing with more people would make the game faster and also a bit repetitive. I'm sure with expansions, there will be more cards to play, however at this time, I'm not sure there is a lot of "re-playableness". Once you see the cards and how they interact, they lose their humor.

I love the Punisher! I loved season 1. We just finished binging season 2, which I also liked a lot. However, without giving spoilers, it had a completely different feel than the first season. There were a couple of elements in the second season that I could have done without, or at least with changes, but overall, I still fully enjoyed it. I'm glad the show didn't get cancelled the way some of the other Marvel shows on Netflix did. However, if it does at this point, I would still feel like things had been completed. Hopefully they'll throw a third season at us, though!

Too creepy
I know that a lot of people have raved about it but I have to say I couldn't watch the whole series. I got to about half way through episode 4 and couldn't carry on. I was creeped out too much.
Maybe I should of persisted but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
It's a story about a (all be it very hunky) man called Joe who spots the woman of his dreams and basically stalks her until she starts dating him. I didn't make it much further before I stopped watching because it was just far far far too creepy.

Not a page turner
This book promises a page turning, plot twisting, dArk and thrilling read but instead you only want the pages to turn to the torture of reading the book can come to an end.

The ending is well written and worth investing in but unfortunately the build up has been so bad that by the time the end comes, you just don’t care anymore.

There is a lot of promise but it doesn’t deliver.

You don’t care about the mystery letter writer, or the romantic entanglements because we aren’t given any reason to care for the characters until the very end.
